To strengthen our Global Real-World Evidence (RWE) department, we are looking to hire an Assistant based in Brussels (BE) to strengthen our RWE team, based in multiple locations, Brussels, Slough (UK), Raleigh (US). The RWE team has 3 assistants, one per location.

 

About Real-World Evidence (RWE)

 

 

The world of drug development is changing; the evolving external environment increases our need to deliver differentiated solutions to specific patient populations, enhance access to those solutions and better demonstrate their value to society. To achieve this vision, we aim to maximize the value provided by “Real-World Data” (RWD) from routine clinical care. Thus, we and our external stakeholders will gain a deeper understanding of unmet needs in those patient populations, the realities of current clinical practice, and the benefits that new medicines bring to patients in the real-world setting.

 

As a UCB person and Assistant you will contribute by:


 

Agenda management primarily for the Head of the department, but also for  the team, incl. but not limited to: identifying risks, priorities, schedule regular meetings, taking minutes, timely follow-up on action items…

  • Organizing business trips in line with UCB’s travel policy: travel/hotel arrangements, ground transportation, visa arrangements, …
  • Setting up meetings (internal/off-site): source off-site meeting venues, secure meeting rooms, catering, technical support,…
  • Handling purchasing requests: create purchase orders, manage the invoicing process
  • Managing contracts
  • Processing expense reports
  • Supporting the development of PowerPoint presentations when requested
  • Actively engaging with other team members and assistants, incl.  in our other locations Slough and Ralleigh , ensure optimal and efficient collaboration and team organization
  • Acting as liaison between the team and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Actively using different communication and collaboration tools to share documents and information relevant for the team: OneDrive, Teams, Yammer,…
  • Being able to navigate in an international environment.

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

 

  • Proficient English (French and/or Dutch is a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years’ experience as team assistant
  • Proven experience to work in a fast-changing environment and deal with ambiguity
  • Willing to learn and pro-active mindset
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint are a must) and quickly adapting to new systems
  • Dealing appropriately with confidential and sensitive matters
  • Open to feedback and proactively seek it
  • Ability to handle a number of diverse tasks simultaneously
  • Follow up on budget (WBS, PO, PR, etc.)
