To strengthen our Corporate Societal Responsibility team, based in our hub in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of:

Corporate Societal Responsibility Lead.

As a UCB 'empalytic' person and Corporate Societal Responsibility Lead you like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Be accountable for some CSR projects
  • Manage the fundraising activities for UCB CSR projects and the measure their successes
  • Anticipate changes in the reality and perception of third parties in patient-centric activities in developing countries

As a UCB 'empalytic' person and Corporate Societal Responsibility Lead you will contribute by:

  • Supporting the VP CSR in implementing the short and long term CSR objectives in Africa
  • Building and maintaining the related African network (internal and external) to be able to support the VP CSR in the follow-up of the partnerships in his assigned projects (e.g., non-governmental organisations, patient programs departments, country heads and local people involved in CSR projects, etc.)
  • Provide expertise, ideas and communication support around : creative funding;
  • measuring and reporting of milestones/deliverables;
  • integrating UCB staff in patient-centric and planet-centric projects/activities;
  • raising awareness of UCB’s commitment to CSR, internally and externally;
  • communication and applying new tools of communications;
  • publications of project results in peer-reviewed journals; and
  • engagement with third parties for patient-centric activities
  • measuring the uptake and outcomes of CSR campaigns
  • Follow-up of the department’s budget
  • Stay abreast with the latest CSR trends and global initiatives

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Medical Doctor Master Degree
  • Minimum 5 year experience in medical affairs and/or drug safety.
  • Minimum 10 year experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in presentations at global or international forums on various topics.
  • Experience in working in Africa in health-related matter and or with supranational organisation, e.g., World Health Organization, Pan-American Health Organisation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations is a plus.
  • Interactions with governmental representatives, Regulatory Authorities world-wide.
  • Team player – but also ‘self-starter’ able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Well-developed communication and diplomatic skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to excel in written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Fluency in French language is highly appreciated or willingness to learn
  • Understanding of different educational, human rights and sustainability issues.
