To strengthen our External Manufacturing Drug Substance Team, based in our External Manufacturing Department in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: External Manufacturing Operations Lead.


As an External Manufacturing Operations Lead you like to work in an environment where you can:

 

  • Deliver technical expertise to support UCB CMO's in order to ensure effective processes, optimize capacity utilization and quality.
  • Lead multifunctional teams to ensure tech transfers, validation, investigation and business support activities to/from CMO's for existing and new products.
  • Maintain and share technology knowledge, CMO market intelligence, Drug Substance manufacturing and product knowledge of outsourced manufacturing processes.

 
You will more precisely contribute by:

 

  • Leading the operational management of UCB's selected global Contract Manufacturers / Strategic Vendors. In this context, the position leads UCB Vendor Teams with members of Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and global support functions in the pro-active monitoring of the performance of selected partners in order to assure a continuous supply of compliant products and services.
  • Leading projects such as technology transfers, new product introductions, process improvements
  • Participating in the development and implementation of the UCB industrial manufacturing strategy (eg. evaluation of external manufacturing capabilities and capacities, input in preparation and evaluation of business cases, prepare and recommend outsourcing and network footprint decisions).

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

 

  • Master’s Degree.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Experience in managing Asian External Partners is required
  • Fluent in English (Written & Spoken).

 

        Soft skills: 

  • Strong leadership in order to influence External Partners to deliver. 
  • Fully autonomous. 
  • Able to drive multi-functional Teams and effective at Networking.
  • Results oriented.
