To strengthen our External Medical Funding team, we are looking to fill the position of: Head, External Medical Funding. The position is reporting to the Head of External Medical Funding and Collaborations.

 

About the Role
You will be responsible for:

Process Ownership
•    Leading the funding process (grants, sponsorships and donations) and team to ensure appropriate funding categorization, compliance, and alignment with medical strategy.  
•    Aligning established processes with internal policies and relevant regulatory requirements, globally.
•    Engaging and influencing key stakeholders to ensure appropriate funding categorization and funding decisions.  
•    Ensuring all funding requests are processed timely, including proper oversight and management of an external service provider.
Change Management
•    Driving the development of innovative solutions to improve established funding processes (reduce complexity and increase overall compliance) to mobilize and integrate science.  
•    Identifying barriers and manage risks to successful implementation of funding process changes through comprehensive change management plans.
•    Developing and implementing training plans for updated funding processes.
Service Provider Oversight and Management
•    Overseeing the service provider activities that contribute to the funding processes to ensure services are delivered appropriately and meet all established operational metrics.
Team Leadership
•    Managing and developing the team conducting external funding activities.

 

About You
You should have:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. 
•    Experience (>5 years) in a cross-functional lead role or equivalent within R&D, Medical Affairs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Experience (>5 years) working effectively in a Global cross-functional environment and possess strong project management capabilities.
•    Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment on multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.
•    Experience in development and implementation of global processes and standards of practice preferred.
•    Creative, solution-oriented style and strategic mindset.
•    Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills – proficient in English.
•    Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
•    Strong team orientation and ability to work autonomously in a cross-functional and cultural environment.
•    Passion about effecting meaningful change and making a difference.
•    Experience (>2 years) managing direct reports preferred.
