To strengthen our IT Patient Solutions Engineering team based in Belgium (Anderlecht & Braine-L’Alleud), we are looking to  the position of


Patient Solution Engineering
Business Analyst



We are looking for a Business Analyst with strong product mindset, interested in the design and development of innovative Patient centric Solutions. 


The candidate will works actively within a DevOps culture and as such will be a key member of the IT Patient Solutions Chapter, actively engaged in various development Squads.


Role Accountabilities

  • Works with business partners to elicit high-level requirements and capture business need.
  • Closely collaborate with product owner and various squad members to define product backlog.
  • Articulates and documents business requirements by means of Epic, User Stories and Features
  • Assesses the risks of various solutions and support Product Owner during prioritization of competing business demands.
  • Actively contribute to project delivery by participating in Agile/Squad Rituals.
  • Engages with Product Owner and Key Users to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing systems.
  • Work jointly with the Lead Functional Architect to Design & Deliver relevant Patient Solutions Foundation Capabilities that are Trustworthy, Secure, Safe and Compliant(TSSC).
  • Broadly assess feature impact and align with a large variety of functions such as Compliance, Security , Privacy,  Legal , Governance and Enterprise Architecture
  • Advocate TSSC principles internally and externally

Basic Job Requirements


  • Ability to quickly develop a deep and sound business knowledge about UCB Patient Solutions to be able to constructively challenge business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analyse and decompose complex requirements, perform gap analysis and recommend solutions
  • A strong focus on the needs of the patient  is a must, combined with creativity when addressing those needs.
  • Demonstrate thought process and the ability to create alternate solutions to a problem.
  • Communicate ideas quickly to a range of different stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and quality-minded
  • Document requirements, create epic and users stories that fuel the scrum
  • Actively participate in Squad SCRUM ritual

  • Able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment and interpret rules and guidelines flexibly while fully keeping with industry regulations (GxP) and UCB values and culture.
  • Strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication.
  • Good multi-tasking and organization skills as well as time management and project estimation
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Showing a strong interest in the “trends of the new IT world” (Digital, Analytics, Big Data, Mobile Apps,…).
  • Showing interest in the Pharma sector and in improving the life of patients living with severe diseases
  • Working experience of Agile/Scrum/DevOps
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent English.
