To strengthen our Access and External Engagement Team in Eastern Europe (Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland), we are looking to hire a


                                           Strategic Pricing Partner Eastern EU


The location for this role can be in one of the Eastern Europe countries: Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland.


As the successful candidate for this key position, you will report to the Head of Patient Access & External Engagement East EU and your main role will be to lead and implement Pricing scenario planning and pricing strategy development for all UCB assets across all franchises and business units in Eastern Europe.

  • Devises, leads and implements Pricing scenario planning and pricing strategy development for all UCB assets, both in market and pipeline assets, across all 7 Ecosystems and across Immunology and Neurology Franchises, and Established Brands.
  • Analyzes impact of IRP Price changes within the Area and at European level.
  • Makes relevant recommendations to secure optimum Gross Prices.
  • Acts as a key connection between UCB´s Global and Regional Pricing Teams, designs and influences pricing strategy for the East EU business.
  • Leads Area input for pricing within 10-Year-Plan activities, with wider support from local Patient Access Leads and Solution Team / local business units.


Key aspects of the Role


  • Generates and provides ecosystem and competitor insights related to Pricing, both Gross and Net.
  • Monitors closely Clawback / Payback schemes where applicable and provides input for relevant discussions in national Pharma Trade Associations.
  • Anticipates future trends in Pricing landscape across the Area and provides input in building proactive Pricing Strategies.
  • Analyzes qualitatively and quantitatively the drivers of success in Pricing strategies.
  • Works in close collaboration with the Business Units, APEX OPS and Global & Regional Pricing Teams on pricing strategies supporting optimal Patient Access.
  • Works alongside local Patient Access Leads to undertake pricing analyses across all relevant product portfolios to inform the launch pricing scenarios for initial and subsequent indications.
  • Acts as an effective Interface between GPC/ RPC Roles and Patient Access Leads in East EU countries for pricing agenda.


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:


  • Education: University degree in Health/Life Science, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Health Economics, or other relevant scientific discipline.
  • Very good analytical skills (quantitatively as well as qualitatively) and experienced in scenario planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of Payer expectations and approaches on price-setting of medical / pharmaceutical products, incl. market access and HTA evaluation process.
  • Good understanding of functionality and relationships in the health care systems of Eastern Europe, including IRP Rules.
  • Experience of developing and using innovative access strategies in launching pipeline assets (Innovative Contracting / VBAs).
  • Commercial acumen and experience from cross functional settings, within market access and across functions.
  • Experience gained in multinational setting and preferably in an above country role.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and statistical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal and external network
  • Effective Team player who can engender credibility and confidence within a matrix organization supporting the UCB values.
  • Result driven, business orientated and energetic self-starter with entrepreneurial mind-set and hands-on mentality.
  • Languages: Fluent in local language and English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within East EU Area (overnight stays required).
