Job Summary:

To help us meet our ambitions and provide the best solutions to patients, UCB is creating the Marketing Manager - Patient, Specialty Services role.  Based at our US Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, shaping and implementing strategies and tactics that enable patients to start and stay on our immunology therapies as prescribed by their healthcare professional.  This position works across all immunology brands in all indicated therapeutic areas. The Marketing Manager will report directly to the Customer Experience Marketing Lead.


The successful incumbent will be tasked with shaping and developing a fully integrated portfolio-centric strategy to elevate the Customer Experience through the lens of access and patient affordability solutions at the Immunology franchise level.

This strategic role will also be responsible for managing the relationship with current and future access and affordability vendor partners tasked with elevating and transforming our support services to drive UCB market leadership and create a competitively differentiated customer and patient experience. The management of these partners will include key components such as: improvements to existing support programs, support service innovations to improve customer and patient experience, development of field based pull thru resources to improve product fulfillment, and the development of new resource offerings and transformational patient support programs.


Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the strategic design and implementation for the immunology patient access and affordability support programs
  • Oversees the implementation of specialty pharmacy service and data agreements
  • Monitors the competitive environment to create sustainable access and affordability strategies and tactics
  • Creates new innovative first to market access and affordability programs
  • Leverages technology to improve the customer and patient experience
  • Manages access and affordability patient support programs including but not limited to HUB, Bridge Pharmacy, PAP, and Copay programs
  • Ensures the execution of access and affordability programs align with business objectives across Immunology
  • Collaborates with Immunology Sales Training to drive effective field force execution
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Brand Marketing, Sales Leadership, Market Access, Information Technology, Legal and Compliance teams
  • Implements plans that improve the operational efficiency of patient support programs
  • Provides regular updates to department senior leadership on program performance, as well as coordinate and facilitate monthly and quarterly business reviews
  • Creates, optimizes and implements tools that drive conversion to patients on treatment
  • Measures and analyzes key performance metrics related to patient access and affordability programs 
  • Manages program content through the UCB Review Committee process


Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA is preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years in Specialty Pharmaceutical Sales or Marketing with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets; management experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years in a commercial role where marketing of services to help patients gain access to and/or use a specialty branded drug is required (can be part of sales and/or marketing experience)
  • Proven understanding of both buy & bill and specialty pharmacy treatment pathways
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging sales forces to execute tactics and accomplish key objectives to attain business goals
  • Prior experience working with key internal stakeholders, including marketing and sales teams, legal, market access, privacy, and compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors in contracting, execution and refinement of program offerings
  • Solid speaking, writing, and budgeting skills. Ability to present to groups of all sizes, sometimes at short notice
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
