The Analyst of Commercial Contracting will be responsible for leading the contracting process from initiation to execution including financial analysis of proposals, offer development, and contract assessment and conducting in-depth analysis of current and potential contract customers by evaluating net financial upside / downside and identifying opportunities for contract performance.

 

You like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Partner with Managed Markets field team to identify ideal contracting options and alternative contracting options, building models, analogs, and forecasts to support contracting decisions and analysis of key performance indicators identified by business needs.
  • Conduct ROI and break-even analysis on potential managed care, direct, and indirect contracting opportunities.
  • Analyse and make recommendations regarding the continuation / termination of existing contracts based on patient impact, profitability, and contract performance.
  • Review contract drafts and redlines to audit contract terms, conditions and discounts comply with approved business case, offers, organizational and contractual guidelines, and Executive Pricing Committee policy and guidelines prior to execution.
  • Regularly review contract volume and market share (customer and syndicated data) with Contract Assessment & Performance team to sync Contract Assessment Forecast with Actual Contract performance.

 

You will contribute by:

  • Keeping auditable records and supplies information on request to contract customers and internal groups.
  • Exhibiting confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems and pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets. 
  • Demonstrating the ability to work in a team environment and foster cross-team collaboration and creates a strong morale and spirit in the team through fostering open dialogue and collaborative atmosphere.
  • Actively seeking innovative ways to facilitate a growth in sales of products and/or reduction in rebate liability and suggests areas of improvement for internal processes along with possible solutions. 

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in forecasting, analysis and modelling.
  • 3+ years of advanced MS Excel functionality.
  • Excellent understanding of financial forecasting return on investment and profitability analysis.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Access

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data Science, Finance, Statistics, or Engineering field of study preferred.
  • Proven in-depth skill in financial forecast modelling as well as proficient use of all Microsoft Products.
  • Ability to analyse contracts and determine compliance with terms (more so that terms match approvals), conditions and company guidelines.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to apply analysis to strategic evaluations of contracting decisions.
  • Ability to develop and understand complex financial models and interpret financial analyses
  • Experience and understanding of commercial contracts in the pharmaceutical industry and contract negotiations preferred.
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal and the ability to interact with peers and supervisor
