To strengthen our Market Access team, based in Atlanta, GA, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Contracts Analyst.


As a Contract Analyst, you will drive the contracting process from initiation to execution for regional Managed Care, Medicaid and Trade including contract negotiations, execution, implementation, and contract adherence. Responsible for managing and tracking the red-lining process for contracts, keeping stakeholders and management informed of high priority reviews.  Assists in the development of standard and unique contract language to be included in contract templates and offers and coordinates with Legal to ensure approval on language.

  • Manage the process for the renewal and development of contracts for Managed Care, Medicaid and Trade books of business by providing feedback on and guidance to Area Directors and/or Account Managers on process, terms and conditions and discounts, coordinating the review of contracts by internal stakeholders, tracking contracts in process and continuously following up with Area Directors and/or Account Managers to ensure contracts are completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensure contract terms, conditions and discounts comply with approved Proposal Business Case, Term Sheets / Bids, organizational and contractual guidelines, and Executive Pricing Committee Policy and Guidelines.
  • Assist in contract negotiations across regional Managed Care, Medicaid and Trade channels ensuring alignment of terms and conditions across Managed Markets, Legal, Contracting, Government Pricing, Reimbursement, Trade, and Brand Teams.
  • Draft language across assigned channels for offers, base agreements, and amendments in partnership with Contract Lifecycle Manager to review with Legal which are both compliant and mutually beneficial between parties.
  • Perform modifications on contract documents and maintains record of changes made on contracts within assigned channels.

 

You will contribute by: 

 

  • Appraises progress on contracts during negotiation process.  Provides periodic reports to all parties concerning current status of contracts.  Communicates the necessity for contract extensions to Manager.
  • Exhibiting strong relationship management with stakeholders and negotiation skills while negotiating base agreements and amendments across assigned channels.
  • Managing contract execution, filing of contracts and associated supporting documentation and manages retention system assuring timely review and destruction within retention policy guidelines.
  • Communicating directly with Account Managers and Area Directors to review contract issues.  Builds customer and stakeholder relationships during the contract negotiation process by ensuring prompt response and follow-up in completion of contract development both internally and externally.
  • Confer regularly with Reimbursement Teams to ensure consistency and contract compliance with respect to contract terms and conditions, formulary status, and rebate payments to determine contract compliance.  Assists with global internal audit requests.
  • Assist in communications to MAP Field members of contract expiry dates to ensure the initiation of contracting complies with timeline requirements.
  • Schedules and establishes the agenda for Legal Review meetings in partnership with Contract Lifecycle Manager and provides all documentation prior to meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in any field of study.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in contract red-lining and management of contracting processes.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage tasks to achieve results in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Experience in bio-pharma/healthcare marketplace helpful.
  • Paralegal degree help.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Proactive approach to work, and excellent organization skills, with the ability to work independently and with varying degrees of supervision.
