To strengthen our Neurology Patient Value Unit team, we are looking for a HEOR Lead

 

Responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering health outcomes research strategy and Real World Evidence (RWE). This includes implementing innovative health outcomes research activities which produce scientific evidence, supporting product value propositions with the neurology UCB portfolio and disease state in epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease.  Will play a key role in the support and execution of communication efforts of value propositions and HEOR evidence to payors, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders to achieve optimal education on available HEOR data related to UCB products and disease state. Will have in-depth, specialist knowledge of health outcomes research and RWE generation and its application to standard of care, throughout a product’s life-cycle and healthcare ecosystems.

As part of the UCB US Medical Affairs team, the colleague will be responsible for working closely with the therapeutic area/product team leads and the respective cross-functional to ensure alignment with overall medical, development and nPVU strategy and tactics. The colleague will also work in collaboration with the UCB Global Market Access, US Government Policy/Affairs, and Pricing teams/colleagues and nPVU missions as appropriate.

 

As the HEOR Lead you will contribute by:

  • Lead the creation of the Medical strategy and execution for key accounts, integrated health systems and payers
  • Represent US Medical Neurology and provide medical and health economic and outcome insights for the development teams
  • Assess clinical data gaps at key accounts and collaborate with the Medical Directors to create medical plans to address the needs
  • Collaborate with other key medical team members to provide relevant medical solutions to the US Health Ecosystem
  • Responsible for the execution of the above plans
  • Provide technical support and content expertise to internal and external healthcare providers
  • Prepare and give presentations for internal and to external audiences
  • Provide insights support for key commercial activities
  • Establish relationships with key decision makers
  • Ensure consistent medical communications

     

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Bachelors of Science/Bachelors of Arts - Relevant Business or Life Sciences related discipline
  • Five or more years of experience in health services research, public health, epidemiology, or health economics.
  • Sound knowledge of HEOR methodology and global pricing and reimbursement requirements
  • Ability to strategize, conduct critical appraisal, competitive analysis and interpretation and broad applied knowledge of medical/disease pathophysiology, epidemiology and clinical pharmacology across a variety of disease areas.
  • Ability to conduct critical appraisal (including development of strategic guidance) in terms of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity, and Threats) of UCB products, from the perspective of external US customers and relative to other therapeutic choices available to those customers.
  • Ability to conduct critical Gap analyses of critical HEOR –relevant information/evidence needed to gain and support access to US customers.
  • Track record of HEOR and RWD achievements
  • Solid leadership, influencing, strategic planning, organization relationship building, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong technical skills coupled with understanding of business needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication to effectively convey strategic and technical market access information/issues
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of International health care systems and financing mechanisms
