To help us meet our ambitions and provide the best solutions to patients, UCB is currently seeking a talented individual as the Medical Ecosystem Solution and Access Lead, Immunology. This role will be field-based.

 

UCB is expanding the indications of existing products for patients with immunological dysfunction and is developing new therapies for additional indications in the fields of rheumatology, gastroenterology, and dermatology.  In support of the commercialization of these products, the Medical Ecosystem Solution and Access Lead will be responsible for the creation of Medical and Real-World Evidence (RWE) strategic plans and interactions with key stakeholders in the US health ecosystem including key accounts, integrated health systems, and payers. The Lead will also inform the development of the immunology pipeline by providing strategic guidance to the development teams and preparing the US Medical immunology team as the molecules enter pre-launch phases. The role will be responsible for the assessment of clinical and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) needs and guiding the data generation strategy in collaboration with the HEOR and Medical Directors and key internal cross-functional team members. In addition, the role will have responsibilities establishing relationships with external experts and key decision makers. Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Lead the creation and execution of the Medical and RWE engagement strategy with external partners.  These include key accounts, integrated health systems and payers
  • Represent US Medical immunology and provide medical HEOR insight to internal stakeholders including Medical and Commercial cross-functional teams; which includes active participation in internal strategic meetings
  • Assess clinical data gaps at key accounts and collaborate with the Medical Directors to create medical plans to address the needs
  • Collaborate with other key Medical, Market Access, and Commercial team members to provide Medical and HEOR input to the US Health Ecosystem Team.
  • Lead the design and execution of collaborative Medical and HEOR tactics
  • Provide HEOR strategic support and clinical content expertise to external decision-makers
  • Prepare and give presentations for internal and to external audiences
  • Establish relationships with key decision makers
  • Ensure consistent medical communications
  •  

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • MD, PharmD or PhD with a strong track record of strategic medical account planning, management, and execution
  • Strong background in health economics and outcomes research and payer interactions is required
  • Successful track record in developing relationships with key decision makers in the US health ecosystem
  • Clinical experience in rheumatology or gastroenterology preferred
  • Prior experience in industry roles (>5 years). Direct medical affairs experience desired
  • Understanding of drug development and commercial activities
  • Ability to critically assess and analyze the clinical and HEOR gaps and provide relevant medical solutions
  • Willing to take initiative on complex projects and able to identify what is necessary to complete tasks
  • Knows how to be a team player and willing to work collaboratively across the organization
  • Excellent skills in professional interactions
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and is easily understood in written materials and presentations
