Job Summary:


The Paralegal provides a broad range of commercial support for UCB’s biopharmaceutical business. The role requires an intimate knowledge and understanding of contracts.  It involves working closely with the company’s attorneys (both U.S. and global) and various business units and functions.


Major Responsibilities:


•    Draft, review and edit a broad range of contracts (e.g., vendor, confidentiality, consulting, market research, healthcare professional services).
•    Help streamline contract preparation, approval and maintenance process.
•    Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding contract status.
•    Negotiate with third parties to finalize agreements.
•    Support procurement processes and activities.
•    Provide corporate secretary support, including preparing minutes and resolutions.
•    Assist with litigation holds and other document requests
•    Other duties and tasks as assigned.




•    Bachelor’s degree.
•    Experienced paralegal with either: (1) a certificate of graduation from an accredited paralegal program; (2) paralegal certification; or (3) completion of at least one year of law school.
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a paralegal in a corporate or law firm environment.
•    Demonstrated experience in contract drafting, review, editing, negotiations and management.
•    Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills required.
•    Ability to interact effectively with business and other functions across the organization.
•    Proactive approach to work, and excellent organization skills, with the ability to work independently and with varying degrees of supervision.
•    Strong proficiency in technology, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Excel.
•    Familiarity with FDA, Pharma, or Healthcare is preferred.
