The Lead of Strategic Market Access Pharmacy, GPO, VA/DoD, IDN and GPO Channel will establish Market Access Enterprise and Specialty Pharmacy Strategies with innovative ideas, programming and initiatives to help shape and contribute to business performance and patient care. This individual will formulate strategies, develop, and deliver tactics aligned to the nPVU and iPVU Value and Access strategic plans for Pharmacy (retail and specilaty), GPO, IDN and Federal channels to educate customers and support brand adoption and utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative, market insight driven, branded and unbranded educational specialty pharmacy programming and account management tools and materials that activate stakeholders and improve patient experience.
  • Accountable for the evolution of enterprise Specialty Pharmacy and GPO strategy, tool development, approval, rollout to execution as well as managing associated budget. Key leadership role in building programming in compliance with organization working practices and oversight and coordination with Brands
  • Ingrain compliance as core to business processes, including ensuring all elements of the relevant CIA addendum Working Practice Documents are satisfied
  • Build clear organization approach to Health Info Technology (HIT) systems for enterprise, EMR, Order Sets loads for product launch effectiveness.
  • Develop, enhance, and oversee the management of Specialty Pharmacy Fee for Service Agreements in collaboration with the brands.
  • Develop Congress plan for pharmacy-related associations (e.g. Assembia, HOPA etc.)
  • Partner and collaborate with filed specialty market teams, National Account Directors, Director to enhance the customer engagement and experience with UCB
  • Gain deep understanding of Specialty dispensing across all dispensing segments Specialty Pharmacies, institutional and oncology practice dispensing by determining their needs, priorities, relevant dynamics, key policy frameworks, and opportunities/challenges.
  • Our current portfolio exists in multiple channels including GPO, specialty pharmacy, retail, hospital, LTC, IDN.  We have an innovative pipeline and our constantly challenging ourselves to improve the patient experience, engage with customers and drive innovation for stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • BA/BS degree is required; advanced degree RPH/ PharmD, MBA preferred

 

Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of pharmaceutical/biologic industry experience with a minimum of 2 years working in a US market access organization and 2 years in marketing is required
  • Experience with operations, project management and/or contract management required
  • Extensive market channel knowledge in several of the following channels with awareness of major dynamics in others, to include Payer, Provider, PBMs, Specialty Pharmacy, Distribution, Employers, ACOs, IDNs/Big 4 required.
  • Understanding of benefit design, specialty pharmacy & distribution and funding economics associated with Medicare, Commercial and Medicaid Reimbursement for both IV and Oral Pharmaceuticals.
  • Understanding of current market access landscape and evolving macro-trends including scientific innovation, transformation of healthcare delivery, heightened focus on value and technology enabled engagement and information.
  • Excellent documentation practices, negotiations skills, communication skills, business acumen, ability to manage financial resources, strategic thinking, and strong leadership including ability to develop and lead cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred Experience

  • 3 years experience in buy and bill and specialty pharmacy; auto immune therapeutic area preferred
  • Specific experience in evaluating program/contract compliance with applicable CIA requirements, policies and procedures strongly desired
  • Reimbursement & contracting experience. Understanding of 340B Institutions, specialty pharmacy, channels, and contracting for both IV and Orals
