To strengthen our Analytical Process Development Team, based in our Boston Office in Bedford, MA, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Research Scientist in AAV Analytical Method Development.


Our Team is looking for a Research Scientist with experience in viral vector testing and analytical method development. This individual will support multiple therapeutic gene therapy programs by assisting in the development of new methods for AAV vector analytics for use in research and initial process development.

You will contribute by:

  • Assisting in the establishment of methods for nucleic acid and capsid protein quantification for both viral vector and residual testing across multiple programs
  • Standardizing and improving the electronic data capture and reporting for multiple laboratory test methods
  • Adding Improvements to standard testing methods to allow for high throughput or more accurate quantification
  • Supporting routine analytical testing for vector biology and discovery, and process development teams 
  • Collaborating with the upstream, downstream and vector biology teams on cross-functional projects


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

      Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or virology
  • 4-6 years of applicable experience (industry preferred) with excellent scientific track record
  • Hands-on experience developing molecular based methods for nucleic acid or viral vector quantification (ddPCR, qPCR, ELISA, AUC, etc)
  • Experience in the independent design, development, optimization and prosecution of a range of analytical assays.  This will include experience in data handling and analysis.
  • Previous development of AAV or viral vector products is a plus
  • Experience with biophysical characterization of viral vectors is a plus
  • Ability to manage priorities, and engage/communicate in a multidisciplinary environment
