Senior Scientist - Vector Purification

To strengthen our Early Research and Development Team, based in our Boston office in Bedford, MA, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Senior Scientist.

 

You like to work in an environment where you can:

Supports multiple therapeutic gene therapy programs by leading AAV vector downstream purification for use in research and initial process development

 

Major Accountabilities

  • Purification of viral vectors (AAV) – shake flask to 50L bioreactor
  • Establish and optimize downstream processes for multiple programs
  • Responsible for purification schedule, filtration & chromatography unit operations  
  • Collaborate with the upstream, analytics and vector biology teams
  • Ability to function independently and cross functionally across various UCB teams (medicinal chemists, cell biologists, disease area exerts, antibody engineers, etc)
  • Ability to manage priorities, and engage/communicate in a multidisciplinary environment

 

Education and Qualification

  • Ph.D preferred but Master’s degree may be sufficient based on experience
  • 3-5 years of viral vector bioprocessing experience in an industrial R&D setting or 5-10 years of recombinant protein purification experience.
