To strengthen our Process Engineering team, based in our Biologicals Pilot Plant (BPP) in Braine l’Alleud , Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Lead Bioprocess Equipment Specialist .

As a UCB 'drivethusiastic' person and Lead Bioprocess Equipment Specialist  you like to work in an environment where you can:

* Provide your technical expertise to support manufacturing activities and to increase UCB’s Biologics Pilot Plant efficiency. 
* Have an active collaboration with BPP process engineering,  production teams and technical teams


As a UCB 'drivethusiastic' person and Lead Bioprocess Equipment Specialist you will contribute by:

* Acting as a process equipment expert and BioProcess specialist inside BPP for topics related to production and cleaning strategy
* Supporting manufacturing teams by being a process equipment expert; taking part / leading troubleshooting challenges faced during the execution of process, in compliance with cGMP rules.
* Leading the design of new – or modified process equipment, liaison for (re-) qualifications and (re-) validation of process equipment
* Driving/Supporting technical continuous improvements related to process equipment and their infrastructural demands, leading to UCB’s Biologics Pilot Plant efficiency increase.
* Leading deviations (Creation, Root Cause assessment, Impact Analysis, CAPA definition and execution, investigations) and change controls (new equipment introduction, technical modifications, …)
* Contribute to BPP strategic development programs to help develop “next generation biomanufacturing” facility 
* Contribute to increase bioproduction operational agility by leading implementation of new tools & new equipments and technologies 
* Working with the Bio-network within UCB and with Bio-industry
* Contribute to / lead green -  and other improvement - and efficiency initiatives 


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

* Master’s degree in sciences with experience in biotechnology, equipment optimization and equipment cleaning strategy
* 5-7 years’ experience in a regulated pharmaceutical environment (quality and/ or production) 
* Practical experience in technical project management
* Experience of equipment optimization, qualification/validation, including URS creation and qualification execution.
* Good quality understanding in GMP-regulated environment and automation systems (among the rest on Zeta & PCS7)
* Excellent communication skills, as interacting with different teams/stakeholders: operators, production managers, equipment vendors, production QA representatives, maintenance, metrology…
* Excellent organization, Team player, and experienced to work interactively with various stakeholder and under limited supervision
* Engaged, enthusiastic, curious and passionate spirit
* Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written
