To strengthen the Engineering team, based in our Belgian manufacturing site of Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Engineering Portfolio Manager.

 

As Engineering Portfolio Manager., you will be the point of contact and strong link between Engineering & Facilities, Finance, Development, Manufacturing and Supply Organization, PMOs, Site LT and Business. You will Report to the Engineering Portfolio & PMO Lead.

 

You will work in an environment where you can:

 

  • Create a strong relationship with all the Development, Manufacturing and Supply Organization and Early Solutions (Research) departments across all sites worldwide.
  • Be the point of contact and strong link between Engineering Portfolio & PMO Lead, Business Engineering Partners, Resources Manager Project managers… from departments Engineering & Facilities and Manufacturing.
  • Performance tracking of our portfolio / Benchmarking.
  • Prioritization, highlight bottlenecks, risks associated with our portfolio, enable trade-off discussions.
  • Manage and reallocate CAPEX with agility while reinforcing our cost control.
  • Consolidate 10-year CAPEX investment plan for S&F.
  • Manage the current budget (finance life cycle).
  • Develop/harmonize portfolio tracking processes, methodologies, best practices and trainings.
  • Act as the guardian of good practices in collaboration with existing PMOs.
  • Manage stakeholders from associated departments like Finance & IT.
  • Be accountable for defining and implementing Engineering Planning processes and best practices for project activities, resources and budgets.
  • Be our Engineering responsible regarding UCB Project Portfolio Management System (UCB is using Planisware). Ensure it fulfills Engineering needs, and progress to a continuous improvement. Participating to the development of new user-oriented functionalities.
  • Manage long terms Capacity and Resource planning and check they are in line with the strategy and the short- and long-term plans.
  • Analyze data, create and generate dashboard, to ensure KPIs and Key Programs are set Check the compliance to Governance. Generate monthly dashboard.
  • Increase Project culture, green and mindset within Engineering & Facilities.

 

You will contribute by:

 

  • Reviewing the Engineering Portfolio focusing on prioritization, resource allocation, bottlenecks, risks, strategic plan and budget, scenario planning, performance tracking, etc.
  • Development, Manufacturing and supply organization & other areas project management gating process
  • Harmonizing processes, guardian and tools (ex: gating, business case, etc.).
  • Increasing project culture and green mindset within Engineering and Facilities.
  • Following-up on Capex & reallocation.
  • Acting as an enabler of specific strategies such as Green, Safety, Digital, etc.
  • Providing ad-hoc support on specific projects.
  • Process engineering, quality review.
  • Integrating follow up & upgrade.
  • Supporting Business Engineering Partners, Project Leaders  and Facilities.

 

Interested?  For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

 

Education

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Project Management certification required.
  • A certification in Portfolio management PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean or equivalent will be seen as an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in portfolio management/other experiences relevant to the role, and associated tools.
  • Knowledge of Pharma industry is a strong asset.
  • Strong experience in enterprise planning/resource capability and systems. Knowledge of Planisware is a strong asset.
  • Fundamentals in people management (including change, decisions, conflicts, coaching, leading, etc.).
  • Fluent in English and French, Dutch is an asset.
  • Background and experience with 'critical thinking & problem solving' tools.
  • Ability to lead and work in cross-functional teams, including remotely.
  • Good communicator and listener in an international environment.
  • Robust knowledge of change management.
  • Agile to gain commitment, creative, good team-player, proactive, accountable, resilient, with a positive mindset
  • Knowledge of process optimization is a plus.
