To strengthen our Global Health, Safety and Environment department, based in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Global Lead External Parnters.

 

As a UCB Global Lead External Partners you like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Ensure UCB assesses and understands the potential impact of evolving regulatory requirements related to HSE in general and to the product stewardship aspects specifically.
  • Ensure UCB’s HSE ambition covers the entire value chain and is known and supported by our external partners (CMO and other suppliers). 

You will specifically take the lead in projects related to ensuring REACH compliance (incl. Reach (eco)tox testing).

 

As a UCB Global Lead External Partners, you will contribute by:

  • Screening of the regulatory context in which UCB is operating, to ensure UCB is aware and understands the impact of potential impact of evolving HSE-related regulatory requirements.
  • Hereto, externally representing UCB at Industry Associations such as EFPIA and Chemleg (as needed) and internally represent Global HSE at UCB’s Regulatory Information Network (RIN).
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of REACH registration dossiers in close cooperation with the product stewardship lead at Global HSE and external consulting partners.
  • Acting as a back-up in preparing and revising SDS according to applicable regulations (REACH, CLP (GHS) and transportation regulations.
  • Ensuring UCB’s HSE ambition covers the entire value chain and is known and supported by our external partners (CMO and other suppliers).
  • Hereto, performing due diligence and compliance audits of UCB’s CMO’s in order to verify compliance with HS&E legal requirements, recognized standards and UCB’s HSE ambition to ensure that the operations performed on behalf of UCB meet the expected HSE performance.

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a multinational industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • HSE generalist able to work on environmental, safety and health issues.
  • Good understanding of (eco)toxicity testing.
  • Excellent knowledge of REACH, CLP(GHS) and international transportation regulations.
  • Working experience in SDS authoring
  • Having a good knowledge of HSE related ISO management systems (ISO 450001; OHSAS 180001)
  • Able to fluently communicate in English. Knowledge of other languages, especially French, is a plus.
  • Committal towards a demanding working environment in terms of quality and work efficiency
  • Able to communicate highly technical concepts in a clear and comprehensible manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong ability to influence without authority
