To strengthen our Global Health, Safety and Environment department, based in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Global Health Program Manager.

 

As a UCB Global Health Program Manager you like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Transversally drive the implementation of global health programs, ensuring a consistent approach across UCB’s operations and sites, hereto liaising with Talent, Sustainability and the Global Health & Safety Lead.

You will specifically take the lead in implementing health program elements/projects at site level across UCB.

 

As a UCB Global Health Program Manager, you will contribute by:

  • Transversally driving the implementation of global employee health/wellbeing programs, ensuring a consistent approach across UCB’s operations and sites, hereto liaising closely with Talent, Sustainability and the Global Health & Safety Lead.
  • Ensuring the consistent implementation of global health standards at site level, by performing gap analysis between AS and SHOULD BE conditions, assessing what would be needed to close any identified gaps, supporting the translation of global standards into site specific programs and initiatives, …
  • Identifying best practices applied at site level and leverage them across UCB (through their integrating in UCB standards, global health programs, etc),
  • Focusing on applying the above to the consistent implementation of UCB’s occupational hygiene program (covering o.a. the exposure to chemical & biological agents, LAA, exposure to noise, ergonomics, ….) and on reducing exposure by ensuring the systematic integration of the hierarchy of controls in the design phase of new installations; e.g. through the implementation of UCB’s containment strategy (sop 014179),
  • Supporting the implementation of the Health Maturity Assessment System: provide training on the system, organize the assessment to be performed at site level, perform gap analysis across UCB sites, measure and report on the progress made, …

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a multinational industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Lead auditor for international health, safety and environmental standards (preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of industry best practices related to occupational hygiene and/or the network and willingness to acquire this knowledge
  • Having a good knowledge of H(SE) related ISO management systems.
  • Decide on the optimal pathways to implement global health standards at local level.
  • Committal towards a demanding working environment in terms of quality and work efficiency
  • Operate as a transversal integrator
  • Able to communicate highly technical concepts in a clear and comprehensible manner
  • Able to fluently communicate in English. Knowledge of other languages, especially French, is a plus.
  • Able to provide insights to senior management in order to identify opportunities and prioritize actions needed to ensure site compliance with UCB or industry best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong ability to influence without authority
  • Having a flexible mindset able to translate global solutions towards local implementation
  • Structured, analytical thinking though as to ensure consistency along the local implementation pathways.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong networking skills and maintain efficient working relations with key stakeholders
