Within the global UCB IT organization, the IT Application Services group is playing a crucial role in managing & optimizing IT applications across several functional domains and key components of the large ecosystem focusing on delivering value to patients. We are looking for a unique individual to strengthen our team. 


As the Head of Application Managed Services (AMS), you will develop, evolve and maintain various applications at UCB, across multiple business process areas and technologies (BI reporting & analytics, CRM, Web/mobile, HR applications).


The role is in Brussels, Belgium. 


Your main responsibilities


As a successful Head of AMS, you will:          

  • Own the AMS landscape and existing and future services, forecasting, budget planning activities and take mindful decisions on resource allocation.
  • Control implementations to stay complaint as appropriate for various methods and processes (AGILE, SCRUM, validation, GxP)
  • Work in collaboration and coach a team member to translate strategic guidelines into actionable services delivery.
  • Define a sourcing strategy and negotiate, manage & execute large multi-million, multi-year contracts and renewals between UCB and IT AMS partners & vendors.
  • Build and manage partner ecosystem and relationships, in collaboration with UCB procurement & vendor management teams.
  • Lead a diverse global team delivering ‘Application Managed Services’ across UCB IT applications landscape and value-chain. Largely leveraging external partnership and remote teams across the globe via well-defined contracts and operating models.
  • Host in collaboration monthly performance review meetings and vendor/partner steering committees.
  • Monitor industry benchmarking on costs, performance and innovative operating models.
  • Manage skills resilience in collaboration with vendor (onshore/offshore)/partner team/organization to maintain the right level of skills, in line with contract KPI and SLAs.
  • Drive the operational teams towards goals around Continuous Improvement, automation, optimization and being customer-centric. 
  • Drive UCB IT audits as appropriate towards AMS teams – Quality, Security
