To strengthen our Braine Technical Operations (BTO) team, based in our hub in Braine, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Head of Braine Supply Chain.

As a UCB 'concluencer' and Head of Braine Supply Chain you like to work in an environment where you can:

• Lead the Braine Supply Chain department in order to maximize the service level to UCB’s patients while streamlining inventories, managing operational costs and optimizing Braine manufacturing assets utilization

• As a member of BTO leadership team, contribute to the definition and execution of the BTO strategy, in line with UCB and Patient Value Supply & Technology Solutions priorities

• Promote and demonstrate a Safe, Lean and Green mindset across the Braine Supply Chain department and beyond, while maintaining our high Quality standards
 


As a UCB 'concluencer' and Head of Braine Supply Chain you will contribute by:

 

Leadership:


• Leading the Braine Supply Chain department in order to manage all site Supply Chain related roles and operations, from Procurement of raw materials and packaging components, to planning & scheduling of our manufacturing lines, with a safe, green, lean and compliant mindset, at optimized costs 

• Implementing relevant and consistent metrics (including deep dive capabilities and root cause analysis) enabling monitoring and continuous improvement of our core Supply Chain business processes

 

Planning & Scheduling:


• Acting as the Braine Site primary stakeholder to Global Supply Chain for S&OP processes

• Driving the Master Planning and Scheduling & Detailed Scheduling Business Processes for the Braine Site, in close collaboration with Global Supply Chain, integrating demand from Product Master Planners on multi-products manufacturing assets

• In close collaboration with Global Supply Chain, making the necessary trade-offs and recommendations in order to meet customer delivery requirements while considering manufacturing constraints and meeting the inventory targets 

 

Procurement :


• Being accountable for the procurement process of raw materials and packaging components (BOM items) in order to supply the right item at the right time Projects and continuous improvement initiatives

• Being accountable to identify, leading and delivering the Braine Supply Chain related projects to support the Supply Chain Transformation (in close collaboration with Global Supply Chain) as well as the BTO Strategy

• Instilling a continuous improvement mindset in the Braine Supply Chain team and beyond, and executing related initiatives in collaboration with BTOs Operational Excellence team

 

Performance Management & Compliance:

 

• Being accountable to develop a Performance Management & continuous improvement mindset & system : KPIs, action driven performance reviews, learning culture, ...

 

Quality:


• Ensuring all Braine Supply Chain processes meet UCB Quality Standards, and promoting the Quality Mindset

 

HS & E :

 

• Being accountable for a safe and green working environment

• Promoting the HS& E mindset into Braine Supply Operations and beyond Network and Stakeholder management
• Developing a strong relationship with Braine Supply Chain main stakeholders : BTO other departments (ie Manufacturing, QC and QA), Global Supply Chain (ie Master Planners, Global Supply Leads and GSC Standards and Optimization), Development departments, Finance, …

• Liaising with counterparts on other UCB manufacturing sites in order to share and harmonize best practices Warehousing & Distribution (mid-term, not in initial scope) ;

• Driving safe, lean & green warehousing & primary distribution operations in close collaboration with Global Supply Chain

• Being accountable for the BTO warehouse master plan by ensuring the right warehouse capacity

 

Network and Stakeholder management:


• Developing a strong relationship with Braine Supply Chain main stakeholders : BTO other departments (ie Manufacturing, QC and QA), Global Supply Chain (ie Master Planners, Global Supply Leads and GSC Standards and Optimization), Development departments, Finance, …

• Liaising with counterparts on other UCB manufacturing sites in order to share and harmonize best practices Warehousing & Distribution (mid-term, not in initial scope) ;

• Driving safe, lean & green warehousing & primary distribution operations in close collaboration with Global Supply Chain

• Being accountable for the BTO warehouse master plan by ensuring the right warehouse capacity
 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:


• Master’s degree

• 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience in Supply Chain Leadership roles

• Ability to translate UCB, Patient Value Supply & Technology Solutions and BTO vision, mission and strategy into Braine Supply Operations strategy and priorities

• Strong leadership capabilities, enabling managing and coaching of teams and individuals in order to ensure customer & results orientation while implementing a lean mindset (simplifying processes, reducing variability and eliminating waste). Ability to demonstrate authenticity in his/her leadership style

• Excellent communication skills : ability to coordinate, to energize and to communicate with all stakeholders (internal/external customers & suppliers, Senior Management Unions...) 

• Strong sense of operational priorities and ability to balance day-to-day priorities with longer term improvement initiatives and projects

• Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes subject to cGxP regulations and good knowledge of interactions between functions

• Business acumen and sound understanding of financial reporting (COGS, Opex, Capex)

• Analytical and synthetic view

• Strong resilience & ability to work under stressed conditions

• Problem solving : ability to define and scope a problem (what it is / is not), to identify root causes, to define alternative solutions, to elect the best solution, to implement it, and to check the effectiveness of that solution once implemented
