To strengthen our Biotech Sciences department, based in our hub in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Packaging Development Design Lead.

As a UCB 'agilytical' person and Packaging Development Design Lead you like to work in an environment where you can:

• Work on the selection and characterization of primary packaging materials for all UCB molecules, in clinical development phases as well as for lifecycle management programs.

• Support for packaging process definition, scale-up and industrialization.

• Be the Single Point of Contact between main stakeholders and Packaging Development & Design team

• Oversee of all the packaging related activities for respective projects, including primary, secondary and industrial aspects

• Be accountable for these activities

• Ensure proper budget and resource planning for respective projects, in accordance with stakeholders and line management 

As a UCB 'agilytical' person and Packaging Development Design Lead you will contribute by: 
• Supporting the definition and characterization of primary packaging components for all types of formulations, for any UCB molecule

• Providing all appropriate support to drug process development activities  

• Supporting any technical transfer activities related to packaging components

• Providing support to 2nd line troubleshooting for packaging processes/material issues

• Managing packaging related projects for all UCB molecules

• Providing support in the completion of the relevant sections of the CMC regulatory submissions and regulatory briefing documents and ensure appropriate response to questions from authorities    
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills: 
• Master degree in Chemistry/Biology/Pharmacy

• Minimum 5 years experience in primary packaging development is required.  

• Excellent knowledge and technical experience in (pharmaceutical) packaging components and regulations required.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, influence and team player skills are required

• Good knowledge of cGMP and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Medical device technical and regulatory knowledge is a plus.
