To strengthen our One UCB Engineering, based in our hub in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Discipline Leader for Process Engineering.

As a UCB 'curioneering' person and Discipline Leader for Process Engineering you like to work in an environment where you can:


Create strong relationship with many internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Act as major resource manager for Capex Process projects.

Reinforce project methodology in the Process Engineering Team.

Implement Process strategies through our Engineering department in collaboration with UCB Sites department, manufacturing and purchasing.



As a UCB 'curioneering' person and Discipline Leader for Process Engineering you will contribute by:


Develop the Process technical standards, best practices and develop technical expertise and skills within Process team

Seek for trends and new technologies in Process (upstream/primary and downstream/secondary) to increase performance in design and execution (schedule and cost)

Based on Core assessment, develop partnerships with suppliers and purchasing department for design and execution of Process projects.

Support the project leader to evaluate the competencies needed for Process investment projects.

Evaluate/Validate Scenarios/Basic/Detail design related to Process projects in collaboration with associated stakeholders and HSE (Scope definition, budget estimate, schedule).

Identify and coordinate the resources planning to meet Process project needs.

Manage, support priorities and allocate resources for Process projects.

Ensure that Process Engineering team and their relevant activities are compliant with the latest HSE regulations at all times including the green aspect.

Maintain up to date Engineering Process Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs)



Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:


Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering (bio, chemical).

Strong Process knowledge in Upstream/Primary – Downstream/secondary pharmaceutical operations, chemical operations and utilities associated.

Minimum 10 year experience in GMP regulated environment knowledge, WHO regulation knowledge.

Minimum 5 year experience in people management and contractors management.

Strong record in project management.

Communication skills, cross functional player, leadership, problem solving oriented

Fluent in French and English.
