To strengthen our new Gene Therapy (GT) Department, based in Braine, Belgium we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Media & Buffer Bio Process Expert.


As a Media & Buffer Bio Process Expert, your main responsibilities are:

  • To support and design the media & buffer process and suite to produce Viral Vector.
  • To lead the media & buffer part of the project to ensure that the project key success factors (performance, sustainability, compliance, safety, strategic fit) are embedded into the project design and fulfilled to control that activities are performed by the suppliers as stated in the respective contracts.
  • To ensure that significant issues and risks are identified, mitigated and escalated as appropriate.
  • To ensure and reinforce an efficient coordination with the engineering company, the process engineers and the suppliers.
  • To ensure an efficient communication and integration with all other project functions (BU/CU, Infrastructure, C&V, Automation…)
  • To ensure that media & buffer process equipment and operations are designed, installed and qualified as per industrial technical standards, complying with GxP rules and in a harmonized manner with downstream and support equipment.
  • To ensure all HSE requirements are integrated in all aspects of the project.
  • To participate in the transfer of processes from development to production scale.


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:


  • Master’s Degree in Bioengineering, Biochemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical setting.
  • A proven experience in Media/Buffer/Dispensing activities using Single Use System (SUS) is required.
  • Good knowledges and understanding of (USP/DSP) Processes and GxP.
  • Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
