To strengthen our Patient Safety Department, based in the US or Belgium we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Safety Data Insights Strategic Project Lead.


As a Safety Data Insights Strategic Project Lead you will contribute to the definition and implementation of new and improved solutions to develop best in class safety business processes in line with Patient Safety strategic objectives.
You like to work in an environment where you can: 
•    Identify and implement end-to-end business process improvements to increase efficiency, quality and ensure regulatory compliance.
•    Work in a constantly evolving regulatory environment that requires the ability to interact with international and cross-functional teams, as well working with regulators during inspections and audits.


You will contribute by: 
•    Leading the identification and implementation of initiatives for Safety Data Insights, Safety Data Management, Data Quality Excellence and Literature teams focusing on data optimization and quality. Contributing to a 3-year roadmap and propose tactical planning in conjunction with anticipated changes in regulatory landscape and strategic objectives of the patient safety department. 
•    Coordinating, motivating, and leading a matrix team for the successful delivery of assigned projects involving cross-functional colleagues, external vendors and other stakeholders. 
•    Ensuring ongoing evaluation and contributing to process improvements through participation and leading internal and external initiatives. 
•    Sharing and implementing best practices for safety data collection, reporting and quality integrity; leveraging technology and automation platforms.
•    Representing UCB in audits and inspections as subject matter expert (SME) while working collaboratively with teams for inspection readiness; participating in audit/inspection findings CAPA development and execution.
•    Developing project plans and presenting scope, solutions and updates at governance forums to secure management support and resourcing. 


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills: 
•    Educated to a Master’s degree level in a relevant field with a Project Management Certification a strong preference
•    Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with experience in pharmacovigilance or clinically oriented discipline. 
•    Must have at least 5 years of experience in safety operations as per regulations. 
•    Has thorough knowledge of not only pharmacovigilance theory, regulations, and application but also has knowledge of safety technology systems and how pharmacovigilance fits into the larger scope of the drug development cycle
•    Champions change – has the right skillset to identify the need, explain and drive necessary changes
•    Can work autonomously, is a self-starter and can deliver results independently
•    Can problem solve and think ‘outside of the box’ to propose innovative solutions
•    Excellent cross-cultural communication skills, ability to work with international and remote project teams, ability to express requirements to technical teams.
•    Able to communicate within Patient Safety and across departments in scientific language to generate discussion on issues or regulatory changes but also able to communicate complex topics and information in layperson’s terms as needed.
•    Able to deliver presentations or reports to senior management, departmental teams, or industry audiences in a clear, relaxed, and proficient manner.                                               
•    Has the technical, people and project management skills and experience necessary to (co-)lead the implementation and/or update of safety business processes.
