Facility Hard Services Lead


Manage the Facility Hard Service scope in Bulle. Ensure the site is safe, accessible and enjoyable for employees and visitors at any time. Lead a team of contractors and external providers to ensure the scope of the various contracts are executed to the company, the UCB management and employee satisfaction. Manage a projects portfolio to develop the site according to the directions agreed upon with the management.


  • Lead the outsourced Facility Hard Service team.
  • Contract management and service providers supervision: define & review periodically the mandate, missions and scope of the service providers according to the evolution of the site management needs and expectations to make UCB Bulle site a great place to work.
  • Contribute to develop and maintain with the Head of Facility, the master plan describing the base plan and the possible development of the site and describe the use of the buildings and lands with a 10-year horizon plan.
  • Develop a long-range plan with projects estimated based on the facility master plan.
  • Develop annual budget based on projects that will occur during the year and the activities linked to the scope of actions and facilities and report on projects progresses and expenses committed.
  • Plan and budget the maintenance of the buildings, determining the needs for repairs or renovations through buildings inspections and identify opportunities for sustainable and green solutions.
  • Proactively review office spaces needs foreseen by the users and fit out and allocate office space accordingly. Drive with the Project Management Office Team new projects defined by UCB local and global office space strategy.
  • Supervise projects of Revamping or construction as per Facility Master Plan within the scope of Facilities Hard Services Expert.
  • Reports timely, accurately and extensively to Head of Facility on specific facilities aspects.
  • Engages stakeholders in development and evaluation of opportunities and reports to stakeholders regularly on execution progresses.
  • Ensure workplace safety on site by making frequent investigations and assessments of safety on buildings and others facilities equipment’s. Ensure the respect of applicable legislation.
  • Ensure facilities inspection after accidents and ensure accident prevention in keeping facilities a safe place for employees to work in.
  • Lead the dissemination and sharing of best practices on facilities management to the facilities staff and service providers. Engages with operation excellence team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • 5 years’ experience in Facility Management, with major understanding of building maintenance.
  • Bachelor/master level in facilities management, Civil or building technical engineer
  • Experience in the Pharma Industry is a plus.
  • Ability to drive complex agreements and deal with day to day detail.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills at all levels.
  • Strong negotiation skills to handle responsibilities and reporting lines on several axes, management, global team, stakeholders and users.

  • Legal and regulatory frame (GMP and HS&E) knowledge.
  • Strongly orientated on safety and security.
  • Languages: both French and English (spoken and written) are a must; German is a plus.
