QA specialist (automation & computer system)


To strengthen our Quality Assurance department, based in our site in Bulle, Switzerland, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: QA specialist (automation & computer system).

As a QA specialist, you will be responsible to actively support operations in order to identify, develop, and propose quality and operational excellence improvements in response to business requirements and/or technical changes and/or regulatory requirements. Knowledge of automation processes would be a gib advantage.

You like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Coordinate GxP Quality aspects with regards to Technical Operations activities of marketed products so that products are manufactured and supplied with applicable standards.
  • Support Technical Operations activities within UCB Farchim SA in compliance with the GxP and UCB Quality standards, mainly related to management of quality processes (for example QRM, PQR, etc.), qualification of equipment, continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Tech Ops Manufacturing (mainly technical services & raw materials activities) and supply activities within UCB Farchim SA in compliance with the GxP and UCB Quality standards.
  • Participate in the deployment of the HSE (Health, Environment and Safety) policy on Bulle site.


You will contribute by:

  • Enforcing Compliance of stakeholders with relevant product flow, UCB standards, and GxP.
  • Ensuring - through procedures - that TechOps Bulle installations/ equipment and operations are qualified and validated respectively according to current guidelines.
  • Coordinating relationships with internal/external customers/stakeholders including CMOs in order to provide efficient follow-up of product related deviations, change controls, investigations, incidents, deviations, etc.
  • Participating to quality strategies for projects in the area of responsibilities.
  • Contributing to simplification and streamlining of processes to remove unwanted roadblocks and support continuous quality improvements.
  • Coordinating QA activities related to inspection/audits (before/during/after).
  • Approving/Authorizing Quality SOPs, validation and qualification documents, specifications, etc.
  • Contributing to Product Quality Reviews redaction and to investigations.
  • Assessing the quality of batches (approval/rejection) according to regulations and others relevant standards and performing Release activities as needed.
  • Ensuring CSQA function in Bulle (Computerized System Quality Assurance) and Data Integrity assessment with the collaboration of respective Process Data Owners.
  • Respecting HSE rules, particularly respect of procedures, individual protection equipment’s use, systematic use of safety elements, wastes sorting and identification. 


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • 10 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Education level: Bachelor / Master’s degree.
  • High communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of GxP environment
  • Demonstrated ability to write-up scientific/technical documents
  • Ability to coordinate multifaceted projects and to meet/respect critical deadlines
  • Independent multi-tasks worker.
  • Languages:
    • English: B2, able to communicate, to read, to write and to understand.
    • French: C1
