UCB Ra is seeking an experienced and energetic candidate to join our Clinical Development team.  The candidate must be highly motivated, creative, and collaborative and must possess deep scientific expertise and clinical sample management expertise.  Will be responsible for clinical laboratory activities, assays and samples as part of many of UCB Ra’s clinical studies. This will include working with outside vendors in the execution of research initiatives and contracted activities as they relate to UCB Ra Pharma’s clinical development program.

 

You like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Work with the clinical trial CROs to ensure all Biomarker needs of the clinical study are met.
  • Perform sample management of all specialty samples collected in clinical studies to ensure all samples are collected, stored and tested as required.
  • Assist with the outsourcing and validation of clinically relevant assays.
  • Provide functional area expertise to discovery and development project teams.
  • Assemble, evaluate, and present scientific data.

You will contribute by:

  • Providing scientific input to preclinical pharmacology teams for translational studies of interest including biomarker development.
  • Participate in the identification of appropriate external vendors.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with external partners such as scientists and vendors.
  • Manage activities of vendors and research collaborators to ensure compliance with the study procedures and overall clinical objectives.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and research collaborators and execute contracted work within budget and on schedule.
  • Ensure that study documentation is maintained according to applicable regulations, industry accepted standards, and SOPs that govern clinical studies both in the field and in-house.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or higher degree in a scientific field
  • 3-5 years professional experience with a strong scientific background, with clinical and/or research experience in clinical assay development and clinical trials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and presentation experience
  • Highly adaptable, proactive, deadline- and detail-oriented, and will maintain a high level of professional expertise through recent industry training and familiarity with clinical research publications
