To strengthen our Immunology team, based in any country in Europe, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of:

 

Medical Strategy Lead Dermatology European

 

The Medical Strategy Lead Dermatology EU is senior medical & scientific expert for dermatology/assets, providing senior medical leadership on the dermatology therapeutic area, strategy and medical & scientific subject matter expertise for dermatology – in alignment with the immunology patient value strategy set at Global and regional level.

  • Develop the Medical strategy for the dermatology therapeutic area at the NE and country levels, as medical input into strategic plans and patient value brand plans (PVBP).
  • Be the Scientific and medical subject matter expertise ensuring high level of scientific & dermatology acumen across the organization.
  • Drive the scientific engagement with selected relevant key external stakeholders.

 

 

You will contribute by:

 

Developing the Medical Strategy

  • Delivers the medical dermatology strategy as part of the cross-functional strategy.
  • Provides medical input to the dermatology cross-functional team/ unit, Market Access and External Engagement.
  • Anticipates and identifies areas of strategic interest within the country care management system and addresses those through the medical component of the local business unit/ Medical Affairs Plan and key medical deliverables.
  • Drives the pre-launch medical strategy & execution for new assets and coordinates local / area input and contribution into the asset clinical programs.
  • Represents the expert medical viewpoint and insights based on local input into the regional/ global strategy and works with the regional/global teams to generate strategy and plans meaningful for countries.
  • Leads the decision of execution, and review & approval as applicable, of key medical deliverables from point of view of the dermatology scientific expertise & alignment with the medical & asset strategy.

 

 

Champions medical excellence

  • Education and training: develop the concept of medical training programs to ensure the appropriate levels of expertise in relevant disease states and with relevant products, in line with UCB standards of scientific leadership.
  • Key responsibility for medical & scientific guidance for medical teams, especially for the Field Medical Lead & Medical Science Liaisons (MSL).
  • Role models high ethical and compliance standards to the associates within the dermatology therapeutic area and contributes proactively to a credible image for UCB Medical Affairs for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with the UCB standards and local regulations (regulatory, pharma codes, etc.) for all medical affairs deliverables in the Dermatology team, directly and in collaboration with the Country Medical Lead.
  • Works closely with the regional/ global medical teams to contribute to maintaining a high standard of scientific knowledge in dermatology.

 

 

Drives scientific engagement with selected relevant external stakeholders

  • Fosters authentic peer scientific/medical engagement with national/ international top experts, professional societies, medical roles at payers and patient advocacy groups that require high level of expertise, experience and for complex collaboration projects.
  • Champions scientific leadership of our data and fosters recognition of the innovative and differentiated science of our solutions.
  • Seizes and fosters collaborations aligned with the dermatology therapeutic area objectives and supporting external stakeholders to drive patient value.
  • Anticipates changes in HC environment and collects disease area insights, driving strategic use of insights and medical actions.
  • Identifies data education and quality of care gaps and validates in partnership with key external experts.

 

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

 

  • Substantial Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industry, (5-8+ years in senior position) in the respective therapeutic areas or similar experience.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development and study management, as well as real world evidence generation plans and practices.
  • Track record of contribution to / medical/ clinical development strategies.
  • Track record of leading cross-business/cross-functional planning, collaborating and solution building.
  • Educational background: Phd, Pharmd or MD degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Biology, Pharma, preferred.
  • Solid peer relationships with and exposure to external scientific/ clinical experts, professional & regulatory bodies, pharma associations; demonstrated ability to proactively engage internal and external leaders and serve as a medical expert.
  • Solid knowledge of the country pharma, environment and healthcare ecosystems and relevance for the business.
  • Demonstrated experience of governance activities and their pragmatic implementation.
  • Leads with executive presence and positively influence performance excellence and innovation across all levels.
  • Leads with and demonstrates strong emotional intelligence, integrity, business acumen, humility, respect and transparency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; establishes trust and partnership collaboration.
  • Strong Strategic acumen, good business acumen and anticipation of industry trends.
  • Ability to critically analyze complex data.
  • Mastery of therapeutic area - dermatology & assets knowledge and ability to translate science into clinical patient value and business value.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to articulate complex subjects with clarity, ease and executive presence (story telling skills).
  • Adaptability: comfortable working with complexity in a fluid environment.
  • Languages: full professional proficiency in English (both oral and written).
