To strengthen our Global Clinical Science & Operations (GCSO) department, home-based in Europe: Clinical Research Associate Team Lead.

 

As a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) Team Lead you will have the chance to mentor and truly develop a newly formed team. Your role will be essential to ensure that the CRA team maximizes site performance in UCB conducted clinical studies focusing on Europe and the US.

  • Make this team “yours” by providing mentorship, guidance and support to all CRAs to enable their development displaying true leadership and passion for your role.
  • Work in a matrix role ensuring good collaboration with all internal stakeholder from within R&D as much as Commercial as well as strategic external partners (e.g. patient organizations, CROs)
  • Be accountable for the planning, coordination, management and supervision of all monitoring and site-related activities to ensure compliance with UCB Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and regulatory requirements.

 

You will contribute by:

  • Being a manager, coach and mentor for assigned CRAs and therefore ensuring the highest standards and support personal and performance development.
  • Representing the CRA team outside of GCSO.
  • Providing operational support to CRAs, pertaining to sites’ performance regarding set-up, conduct and data collection to ensure that all clinical trial and site activities are planned optimally.
  • Encouraging CRAs in the early engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)/ sites / patients organizations and key contact point for these throughout the study.
  • Supporting creation of training for new investigators to work on UCB clinical trials.
  • Sharing insights, innovation opportunities and patient needs internally to the team, through collaboration with the UCB innovation/Technology Transformation Implementation (TTI) Teams.

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • True passion for managing, empowering, developing and mentoring a team.
  • Previous line management experience is a plus but potential and willingness to learn is of even greater importance.
  • Curious and agile, “nothing is impossible” mentality.
  • Inspire, persuade, influence and gain other’s support for ideas and actions
  • A relevant academic degree within natural sciences with a minimum of 5 years of experience within global clinical development (e.g. as a Clinical Project Manager) is required.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional projects in a global environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Clinical Development process and the management of clinical trials.
  • Expertise in Site Management techniques and tools, Change Management skills and ability to teach and apply process improvement methodologies.
