Ecosystem Lead Bone (m/f) – North / West of Germany (Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Niedersachsen, Bremen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg)

 

who will support our Ecosystem (Business Unit) Bone starting as soon as possible.

 

The Ecosystem Lead Bone leads the development and execution of tailored strategies for the assigned ecosystem according to the German Country Plan and is accountable for achieving the strategic goals, such as:

 

  • partnership and long-term relations with various relevant health ecosystem stakeholders
  • securing and maintaining optimal patient access to treatment
  • leading market position in focused patient segment of postfracture Osteoporosis
  • driving growth, sustainability and profitability of the franchise
  • ensuring the team operates the highest standards of science, ethics, compliance and quality when engaging with external stakeholders by complying with UCB code of business conduct and industry guidelines

 

 

To achieve such, the Ecosystem Lead orchestrates all activities of the Local Patient Value Plan in line with the key value drivers of the assigned ecosystem. He/she will be responsible for the overall cross functional leadership, talent development and engagement of all external facing UCB roles, e.g. HCP&Account Partners (HC&AP), MSLs (Medical Science Liaison) and RCL (Regional Care Leads) in direct reporting line.

 

The First Line Manager Bone demonstrates a high level of cross functional leadership and in a motivational way creates and drives the acquired joint accountability required to secure a true alignment of teams and individuals from his/her team. He/she also aligns with other organizational units to coordinate processes and activities to link strategic targets to patient value and achieve the common goals in his/her assigned ecosystem.

 

He/she ensures that the local Bone Ecosystem operates to highest standards of science, ethics, compliance and quality when educating and engaging with external stakeholders, promoting, selling and distributing its products by complying with UCB code of business conduct and industry guidelines.

 

 

Key Activities:

  • Demonstrate a motivational, inclusive and cross functional leadership enabling true joint accountability of all regional customer facing team members
  • Coach, train and develop all direct reports, e.g. ensuring individual competencies are at required levels. In respect of the scientific knowledge this will be done in partnership with the Scientific Lead.
  • Develop a multi-stakeholder ecosystem specific strategic and tactical plan for the assigned region (local patient value plans (LPV plans) based on PVP Germany strategies and priorities adopted to key insights and unique characteristics of assigned plan to ensure launch excellence and value growth. Plan to take into account both short and long term ambitions.
     
  • Ensure excellence in execution of LPV plan.
  • Develop and maintain effective external and internal relationships to secure patient value and efficient operation of the Bone franchise in the region
  • Stay up-to-date on business, clinical/scientific, healthcare funding and policy issues affecting the areas healthcare ecosystem.
  • Develop and manage key processes to gather insights to pro-actively manage the complexity of and relevant value drivers in the ecosystem.
  • Where applicable, ensure that patient, caregiver and payer, HCP expectations are met by eg. UCB Cares and other designated functions
  • Lead by example to ensure a culture of compliance in all initiatives and activities within the assigned markets.
  • Commit time and resources to ensure that all colleagues and members of the LPV unit are developed, coached and guided to meet the overall strategic talent needs of the UCB

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Be an active contributor in area ecosystem Bone Leadership Team together with other First Line Managers, Marketing-, Regional Care- and Medical Lead
  • Prepare the annual local strategic and tactical Patient Value Plan for the region in alignment with cross function customer facing team to ensure launch excellence and rapid uptake taking into account both short- and long term aspects.
  • Responsible for the annual financial budget in market sales and variable operating expenditure
  • Holistic account plans with specific objectives tied to ecosystem Germany short- and long-term strategy and specificities (e.g. drivers, attractiveness) of defined target accounts
  • Monthly monitoring and reporting on performance versus plan
  • Responsible for revenue forecast projections
  • Annual planning of training and development of direct reports
  • Incentive planning & outcome reporting
  • Ensure a value-adding customer experience for target HCP and key stakeholders

 

Overarching qualifications:

  • Leadership – Demonstrate engaging cross functional leadership in-line with UCB’s Patient Value Strategies
  • Eco-system knowledge – Deep Insight in the relevant health care system and the ability to balance short and long term objectives; such as drive growth, profitability to achieve the bPVU strategic and financial goals and develop long term partnerships with HCP and key stakeholders
  • Therapeutic area knowledge – Show a credible understanding of the therapeutic area including clinic, payer and policy interactions and demonstrate capability of external focus and accomplishing patient and health care value

 

Additional qualifications

  • 5+ years of healthcare related sales, marketing, market access or field medical experience
  • Experience within a variety of functional roles is preferred
  • First experiences in Bone / Osteoporosis ecosystems is preferred
  • Bachelors’ degree in life sciences, business or healthcare required; M.B.A., JD, PharmD, PhD or MD preferred
  • Market expertise in relevant health systems and excellence understanding of local ecosystem key drivers for success
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary (cross functional) and/or matrix teams.
  • Experience in cross-functional project leadership; relevant ecosystem expertise in specialty care pharma
  • Maintains and advances own area of therapeutic knowledge
  • Demonstrates the ability to engender credibility and confidence within the company.
  • Strong customer focus and operating skills and sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications
  • Fluent in English enabling valuable interactions and learning through EU Bone community
  • Demonstrated strength in analytics, business planning, tactical plan development and execution
