To strengthen our Field Osteoporosis team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Field Medical Lead Osteoporosis .


As a Field Medical Lead Osteoporosis you will lead a therapeutically aligned Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team and provide executive medical presence, coaching, and accountability to drive individual and team results.

  • Provide cross functional input into country TA strategy and ecosystem plans together with Ecosystem Leads, Solution teams, Medical area and Market Access
  • Contribute to the regional & global medical capability development across the medical affairs community


You will contribute by:


  • Recruitment, onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring & management of area MSL team
  • Develop & implement aligned MSL training curriculums in partnership with the Medical Strategy Lead, local L&D partner, GMA and EU medical
  • Share goals/priorities/KPIs for the MSLs with Ecosystem Lead and request feedback for performance review
  • Ensure implementation of local field medical plan and monitoring of performance vs. objectives
  • Coach and model high impact medical engagement, delivery and scientific & clinical differentiation of TA/asset value proposition.
  • Alignment & cross-functional collaboration within the ecosystem team so that MSLs are empowered to be the medical leaders of the field ecosystem
  • Ensure a clear process, seamless collaboration with the clinical study management team to support clinical studies
  • Ensure goals are accomplished within boundaries established by regulatory, legal and compliance in accordance with company policies, processes and sound ethical practices.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with local medical team (Medical Strategy Lead, Head of Medical) to align on ecosystem-specific medical strategies and plans aimed at ensuring the relevance of UCB’s clinical value proposition
  • Promote best practice sharing and identification of synergies and collaboration cross assets and cross indications
  • Resource optimization & effectiveness including budget management
  • Piloting of regional initiatives and sharing of insights/best practice through MSL community


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • PHD, PharmD or MD degree preferred
  • 5+ years of demonstrated Medical Affairs/ leadership experience or/and 3+ years effectively managing a field medical team
  • Relevant therapeutic area experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated strength in strategic medical planning, tactical plan development and implementation
  • Effective communication, presentation and engagement skills including mastery of English language
  • Digital Literacy
  • Willingness to travel on regular basis
