The Head of Medical Outcomes Specialists is charged to with developing and leading a team of Medical Outcomes Specialists (MOS) in our Immunology Patient Value Unit (iPVU). The MOS is professional with clinical, economic, and real-world evidence (RWE) acumen who serves as a key field-based scientific partner to inform population health decision makers in large group practices, regional health plans, and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs). This manager will be responsible for developing and executing key medical and HEOR strategies that enhance and positively impact patients living with chronic inflammatory diseases. 



  • Leads the development and execution of the medical and Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) engagement strategy with external partners and decision-makers primarily in integrated delivery networks (IDNs), large medical groups, and national/regional health plans and PBMs
  • Manages and develops talented individuals to sustain and enable a high-functioning team
  • Collaborates with internal HEOR colleagues to support the development of clinical and economic value propositions relevant to a spectrum of decision-makers across varying settings of care
  • Strongly contributes to clinical and HEOR conceptual and patient value story development
  • Cultivates relationships with key decision-maker and innovation stakeholders to lead and shape strategically-aligned HEOR collaborations
  • Serves as a Health Economics and Outcomes leader at key medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, and internal meetings. 
  • Supports field-based cross-functional teams to provide medical outcomes expertise in access engagements. 
  • Leads strategic medical and HEOR engagements with internal stakeholders including Account Executives (AEs) and Ecosystem Partnership Leads (EPLs)
  • Assesses clinical and economic data gaps at key accounts and collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide insight into HEOR needs
  • Provides HEOR strategic support and clinical content expertise in innovation and partnership opportunities
  • Operates at the highest level of UCB compliance and professional standards.  Compliance is a part of how we operate within UCB.  Adherence to compliant behavior is an expectation at UCB and demonstrated by embracing ethical decision-making practices and guidelines in all aspects of our organization.
  • Participates in other projects/duties as assigned.  



  • Doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, or Ph.D. in a relevant field)
  • 5+ years of field medical affairs experience including 3 years managing and developing a team
  • Extensive background in health economics and outcomes research and payer interactions. 
  • Industry experience in autoimmune disease or biologics preferred
  • Ability to critically assess and analyze clinical and HEOR data gaps and provide relevant medical solutions 
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. 
  • Demonstrated success aligning and collaborating with strategic partners and patient value strategies
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and is easily understood in written materials and presentations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Up to 75% travel required including overnights and weekends.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Must complete initial training and successfully pass all assessments within 90 days of hire
