To strengthen our Neurology department, we are looking for a:


Medical Science Partner based in the Netherlands


Job Summary

Identifies and fosters purposeful partnerships with key scientific influencers to drive new sources of patient value. Converses in two-way scientific interactions, disease state and treatment algorithm discussions optimizing understanding of UCB therapies for the right patient segments in a scientific and balanced manner within the local health ecosystem. Collaborates to advance local patient value oriented initiatives i.e., Medical, RWE) with key stakeholders.


Key Activities

  • Agile and proactive identification and management of key scientific and medical influencers based on local ecosystem dynamics and stakeholder needs and drivers (from push to pull)
  • Exploration and identification of new sources of patient value (innovative solutions and services)
  • Manage and generate product/ disease state data (IIS, audits, RWE etc.)
  • Support clinical studies, clinical development and share insights with R&D team
  • Serving as the leading local scientific expert for UCB solutions
  • Supporting market access colleagues when applicable in presentation of RWE/HEOR/clinical information to regional and local payer accounts and formularies

Key Deliverables

  • Partners with key clinical stakeholders to advance medical initiatives, in defined strategic areas, to drive optimal patient care. Also, partner with other stakeholders like payers, patient organizations and patients might be relevant depending on the available resources within local organization. 
  • Provides scientific expertise and interpretation to strategic initiatives in collaboration with other local Partner roles
  • Shares insights, innovation opportunities and patient needs internally to the PVU and New Meds
  • Capitalizes on RWE and uses them to further reinforce the value that UCB solutions bring to patients
    Important Interfaces:
  • All other stakeholder-facing roles
  • Enabling medical roles
  • Part of local / regional multidisciplinary team



  • Able to act as a connector in a cross functional team
  • Scientific background (within neurology would be an advantage, not a must)
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills
  • Able to contribute to cross functional plans (both in strategy and execution)
  • Covering the full country, so needs to be able to prioritize
  • Can deal with medical queries from variability of stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Thinks in opportunities instead of issues
  • Pro-active and self-starting
