Hospital Account Manager - Immunology


The incumbent will work within the Patient Value Unit Immunology, and be part of this exciting growth phase of our organization. 

As the successful candidate for this key role, you will in collaboration with key stakeholders define, implement and execute appropriate strategies in order to maximise commercial potential for Cimzia® in The Netherlands.


You will be reporting to the Regional Sales Manager Immunology Netherlands, with a dotted line to the Market Access Manager Netherlands.


Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities will include:

  • The role is field based and manages and drives national Cimzia® sales at hospital account level.
  • In this role you will be accountable for all hospital accounts.  Main tasks will be mapping of the DMU of the hospital, identify drivers and barriers for Cimzia® and develop strategies that affect these drivers in a way that supports Cimzia® performance.
  • Work closely with internal partners (Market Access Manager, HCP Partners, MSL) to ensure full alignment on account strategy and deliverables.
  • Drive contracting and market access solutions together with Ecosystem Lead Immunology and Market Access Manager. Build effective business relationships with key decision makers as Hospital Pharmacists, Board members, Rheumatologists, Dermatologists and other clinical budget responsible persons.
  • Propose business oriented actions based on an understanding of the healthcare system and the consequences for UCB now and in the future (pipeline).
  • Participate in training and coaching activities of sales force in Account management/Market Access related matters.

Your profile:

  • Master degree in a (life) scientific discipline (MBA an asset)
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Dutch and English
  • Strong track record of complex selling, including contracting and market access work,
  • Knowledge of healthcare system including hospital funding (DOT’s etc), role of the health insurer. Current and future developments
  • Team player, able to excel at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues; manages and delegates to others and takes on responsibility; builds positive working relationships to achieve positive goals and business objectives; ability to work in cross-functional teams
