  • The Systems Executive Liaison (SEL) will be the point of contact promoting and representing NEURO PVU (nPVU) brands within large medical groups and integrated delivery networks (collectively “health systems”) and to healthcare providers (HCPs) and personnel affiliated with assigned health system accounts.The SEL will execute provider-, practice-, and facility-level strategies
  • The SEL amplifies and strengthens the matching of UCB therapeutic options with appropriate patients in assigned accounts and territory through strong collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Provides non-brand specific disease state education specific to physicians, patient care coordinators, disease educators, nurses, discharge planners, physician assistants, patient education coordinators etc.
  • Delivers value by efficient, effective and coordinated stakeholder management allowing deployment of the right solution to stakeholders at the right time
  • Matches UCB therapeutic options via a deeper understanding of a community’s patient population by deploying a tailored approach and solutions
  • Aligns appropriate UCB resources to support unique patient and stakeholder needs


  • Establishes strong business relationships with HCPs within assigned accounts / territory and with stakeholders who are influencing provider decisions.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of her/is assigned IDN’s treatment goals and decision making process as it pertains to population health and disease management
  • Demonstrates knowledge of her/is customers EMR system
  • Ensure UCB Operational Compliance to the highest professional standards.The expectation is that compliance is a part of how we operate.Compliance violations may lead to disciplinary action including impact on annual appraisals.Adherence to compliant behavior is an expectation at UCB.


The Systems Liaison will work to alleviate barriers to prescribing nPVU medications for appropriate patients and enhance the availability of UCB’s nPVU products.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Stakeholder engagement is coordinated thru a M.D. team engaging the community (EU)
  • Role is the ‘quarterback’ of vertically integrated health systems (US)
  • Elevated sales role focused on systems and aligned healthcare providers
  • Account management, healthcare financing and outcomes


Attainment of Financial Objectives: The role must meet the financial performance objectives established by the brand for represented products on a quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis (aligned to call file and assigned health system accounts).

  • Account Sales: Effectively sells, promotes and represents nPVU brand(s) within assigned health system accounts and to affiliated HCPs and personnel. Contributes positively to the area mission metrics.
  • Formulary addition or placement of nPVU brands into EHR systems and clinical decision support tools
  • Account Service: Alleviates barriers to prescribing nPVU medications for appropriate patients by educating affiliated HCPs and personnel within the health system on UCB access solutions. Increased use of UCB access solutions within the assigned health system accounts or ecosystem (Cover My Meds, and PARx)
  • Demonstrates the ability to influence an increase in utilization of UCB co-pay cards and vouchers
  • Understand key drivers of Regional Health Ecosystem surrounding patients. Gathers customer insights that influence the development and implementation (working with the PHL) of solutions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrates expertise in current issues pertaining to health care reform that impact the patients and the customer (IDN, ACO, HCP)

Attainment of pre-defined MBO’s: The role must meet pre-defined (SMART) MBO’s relevant to the IDN/System on a quarterly, semi-annual and annul basis (aligned to the assigned health system accounts).

  • Participate in local business and customer planning sessions and reviews with management and other members of the Customer Table (CT)
  • Strategic Planning:With a keen understanding of the IDN /System’s goals related to the Triple Aim the NSE will partner with her/his manager, Population Health Lead and other relevant CT members to design account-specific strategies that support local pull-through of commercial strategies
  • Brings new ideas and potential solutions to the PML/CT based on relevant insights (patient, customer and market)
  • Adhere to full and complete compliance of all activities within assignment to the standards of UCB, Local, State and Federal regulations


Strategic Account Management: The role is expected to become a trusted partner within the assigned IDN / System for whom s/he is assigned.  S/he must be able to identify key stakeholders within the health ecosystem who are instrumental in making patient care decisions for patients with epilepsy.

  • Work with CT colleagues to share insights with nPVU leadership team, brand team and other nPVU members that help them optimizestrategies and develop solutions that will better serve patients and providers and improve performance while ensuring compliance with UCB policies and procedures
  • Attends local system/hospital sponsored educational lectures to elevate customer knowledge. These lectures may be after normal 8-5 business hours.
  • Proactively review performance trends, plan execution and customer needs and opportunities with CT colleagues.
  • Cultivate KOLs in assigned teaching institutions to link influence mapping affiliations that impacts treatment patterns within the hospitals and hospital systems
  • Be the lead point of contact for UCB to build high impact relationships within key account(s), including Independent Accounts, Academic institutions, therapeutic delivery solutions, IDN’s and ACO’s.
  • Develop relationships with key providers and stakeholders within assigned health system accounts.During daily customer interactions, identify administrative customers with important unmet needs who should be prioritized by the CT or PML.
  • Present quarterly business review (goals and objectives) to the business leader.


Education and Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Analyzes and conveys the impact on patient value when engaging with stakeholders.
