The purpose of the Neurology Associate is to establish and maintain successful business relationships with health care professionals within a specific geography.

Grow sales for UCB’s product portfolio to a specific list of health care professionals by effectively communicating the approved product information and using available resources to support the appropriate utilization of our medicines.

  • Distribute patient literature to targeted offices as well as access materials to support the patients we serve.
  • Participate and satisfactorily complete all product and disease state training initiatives.
  • Where applicable, coordinate communication and selling efforts with UCB colleagues.
  • Responsible for all necessary administrative requirements.
  • Demonstrates fundamental knowledge of payer coverage for UCB promoted products.
  • Demonstrates the ability to proficiently utilize visual aids during customer interactions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to compliantly communicate key marketing messages, charts and graphs related to clinical data.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow sales for UCB’s portfolio to a specific list of specialty health care professionals by effectively communicating the approved product information to key customers and using available resources to support the appropriate utilization of our medicines.
  • Distribute patient literature to targeted offices as well as access materials to support the patients we serve.
  • Implement strategically sound business plans and tactical strategies within the assigned geographic territory to achieve individual, territory and company goals for sales, market share, call metrics, appropriate sample distribution, etc.
  • Manage daily sales call activity according to defined expectations.
  • Participate and satisfactorily complete all product and disease state training initiatives
  • Where applicable, coordinate communication and selling efforts with UCB colleagues
  • Responsible for all necessary administrative requirements.
  • Demonstrates fundamental knowledge of payer coverage for UCB promoted products
  • Works to remove barriers to prescribing UCB products by demonstrating a proficient of knowledge regarding UCB support.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility related to budget utilization.
  • Implement strategically sound business plans and tactical strategies within the assigned geographic territory to achieve individual, territory and company goals for sales, market share, call metrics, appropriate sample distribution, etc.
  • Manage daily sales call activity according to defined expectations, with the purpose of influencing customers and increasing product sales.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to customer needs and questions.
  • Effectively and persuasively communicate with customers using effective selling, listening and negotiation skills, proper terminology and approved messaging.
  • Maintain call productivity and metrics as required.

 

Clinical Knowledge: The role consistently demonstrates the ability to differentiate UCB promoted products based on clinical features and benefits.

  • Demonstrates the ability to proficiently utilize visual aids during customer interactions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to compliantly communicate key marketing messages, charts and graphs related to clinical data.
  • Advocates for improved patient outcomes, care and value.
  • Fully comply with all laws, regulations and UCB Policies.
  • Provide service and education to ensure access to medication and optimal patient care.

 

Education and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, and 2 years of B2B sales experience. 1-2 years of pharmaceutical sales is desired.
  • Fundamental understanding of UCB and competitive products, clinical papers, and trial design supporting the approved indications.
  • Possess broad knowledge of UCB competitive products. Ability to discuss and document therapeutic rationales for prescribing products and in a HTA context.
  • Uses readily available resources to create basic account plans; can demonstrate the ability to create customer centric account plans that are mutually beneficial to UCB and the customer with the impact on customers specific objectives (i.e. Therapeutic outcomes, professional priorities, etc.)
  • Actively prepares call strategies that support successful customer interactions. Customer targets include multiple stakeholders; employs basic customer segmentation in plans.
  • Often connects industry and therapeutic trends as well as customer knowledge to teach the customer insights, keeping in mind what is most critical to their business or practice.
  • Maintains a developed understanding of trends within the healthcare markets. Including predominant industry challenges, key players, anticipated structural changes and current and future regulations and resource allocation aspects.
  • Understands the competitor landscape.
  • Can translate trends/developments into insights for the customer.
  • Delivers clear and concise messages; presents solutions in the customer’s language.
  • Improving in delivering the more difficult messages.
  • Sets priorities that contribute to value creation for self and team and ensures they are effectively and timely delivered.
  • Takes courageous actions to meet critical business objectives or changing priorities while balancing the risks and uncertainties of the given situation.
  • Gains a strong understanding of the customers most immediate/urgent issues and business challenges.
