Help us transform patients’ lives. To strengthen our Ethic and Compliance (E&C) Team, we are looking to fill the position of Ethics & Compliance Partner.

 

About the role

 

The E&C Partner would be the front-line representative of E&C organization for Iberia. The incumbent will represent E&C internally and externally in a responsible and professional manner, and acting as a strategic business partner.

 

The E&C Partner is responsible for coordination of E&C activities locally, in collaboration with E&C Regional Head and relevant E&C PVU/PVP Partners, including integration and prioritization of E&C Programs activities.  This person will also act as a local contact on Data Privacy matters, in collaboration with the Data Privacy team in E&C.

 

The E&C Partner is in charge of providing subject matter expertise and leadership on healthcare compliance-related matters within the organization. The incumbent will coordinate the implementation of a proactive compliance program, ensuring that the elements of the program are continuously assessed and enhanced. 

 

This person will work collaboratively with E&C Regional Head and E&C Regional Programs Lead to implement effective world-class controls to minimize identified risks in a practical manner, in compliance with local environment and consistent with UCB’s E&C vision. 

 

Your responsibilities

 

Fully understand Ethics & Compliance risk environment and its impact on the area/affiliate, partnering with stakeholders to properly manage those risks:

• Maintain thorough knowledge of all industry codes, and in cooperation with Legal, of all applicable laws and regulations. Monitor and follow up of key developments that would impact the business. Advise the business regarding existing and future provisions, ensuring appropriate planning and preparation of remediation actions if needed.

• Drive risk assessments for Ethics & Compliance in the geographical area, ensuring that key stakeholders locally and regionally are informed of relevant risks and implementing remediation plans, in collaboration with E&C Regional Head and Programs Lead.

• Actively participate in local industry trade association compliance (or related) committees, helping drive appropriate decision-making on key issues, integrating best practices and benchmarking into the overall approach.

 

Work with the relevant stakeholders to ensure Areas/Affiliates maximize the effectiveness of the compliance program, ensuring that business leadership is committed to the highest ethical and compliance standards.

• Ensure development, implementation, management, maintenance, continuous improvement and interpretation of compliance-related policies, procedures, country specific requirements and practices.

• Working with relevant internal stakeholders, develop, implement, coordinate, and deliver awareness education, policies and procedures training, and other necessary training programs to internal and external business partners.

• Collaborate with Programs Lead and Programs Partners in implementing robust monitoring plans based on the risk assessment; communicate results to leadership, analyze root causes and trends.

• Ensure accountability is exercised through enforcement of our policies and applicable regulations; ensure allegation of misconduct are reported timely and discipline actions are implemented after investigations are done. 

• Partner with Area/Affiliate and Global Internal Audit (GIA) on audits, while maintaining full objectivity and independence from both parties.

• Collaborate with Programs team on due diligence activities of third parties with the Area/Affiliate and associated compliance risk assessment and minimization (e.g. through training) of the pertaining high risk third parties.

• Ensure ethics and compliance documents, records, and files are organized and maintained in an effective way.

 

Provide advice and guidance to the business on ethics & compliance matters:

• Provide advice and guidance to the business on compliance matters, including interactions and practices with healthcare professionals, government officials, healthcare institutions, patients

and patient groups.

• Co-create and collaborate on business initiatives to foster innovation and creation of meaningful solutions for patients while ensuring integrity and ethical principles are respected.

 

Culture of Ethics & Compliance

• Actively engage the leadership team in each applicable Area/Affiliate in driving the tone from the top in integrity and leveraging communication cascade to the organization to maintain a high level of awareness in ethical business conduct.

• Champion speak-up, transparency and a culture of integrity throughout the organization.

 

Your competencies        

 

• Several years (at least 5) of experience in the pharmaceutical industry

• Experience (direct or indirect – confronted and operated) in healthcare compliance

• Proficiency in Healthcare Compliance rules and regulations including self-regulated industry codes (e.g. IFPMA, EFPIA)

• Experience in a transnational and multicultural environment
