To strengthen our Patient Access team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Patient Access & HTA Lead for our affiliate based in Milan, Italy.

 

As a Patient Access & HTA Lead, you will identify and foster purposeful partnerships with key scientific influencers to drive new sources of patient value.

  • Support full patient access of UCB medicines in Italy. Work independently as well as cross-functionally both pre- and post-launch in the assigned therapeutic areas

 

  • Increase UCB profile in the field of Health Economics and grow/maintain external partnerships with HTA and academic bodies

You will contribute by:

 

Market Access Portfolio Management 

  • Providing strategic oversight on UCB portfolio supporting the Market Access Head (MA lead) to deliver the optimal access outcomes.
  • Actively identifying and providing analysis of the access opportunities and challenges to the Market Access Head and Patient Value Units (PVUs); taking responsibility for and actively participating in the development of access plans to reach best impact from cross-functional collaboration.
  • Defining, setting up and carrying out health outcomes, health economics and epidemiological research to substantiate the value of UCB products.
  • Understanding administrative and political mechanisms that drive decision makers in the healthcare area. Using this knowledge actively in cross functional teams.
  • Being able to prepare HTA dossiers and ensuring effective project management of submissions; that timelines are met and that the quality is consistently high.
  • Creating strong and evidence-based value communication and delivering it internally and among stakeholders.
  • Working with UCB External Engagement to help create high-quality and partnerships between stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

 

Access Stakeholder management

  • Externally developing relationships with national HTA organisations and access relevant stakeholders.

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

 

  • Relevant University’s Degree – M.Sc. is a plus
  • Substantial Access and HTA experience, minimum 5 years, within the Pharmaceutical industry or Consultancy
  • Experience on Immuno-Dermatology Therapeutic areas is preferred
  • Detailed understanding of the Italian National Healthcare System
  • Experience of pricing and reimbursement submissions and understanding of economic evaluation concepts
  • Understanding of customer constraints and the healthcare environment in Italy
  • Strong analytical, planning and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability in value-based communication
  • Proved track record of successful P&R submissions to the Italian Authorities
  • Proved track record of collaboration within colleagues and matrix environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively on complex clinical and economic matters to clinicians and payers in an emerging and changing healthcare system
  • Strong communicator and fluent in English
  • Demonstrates resilience with the drive to succeed in a matrix environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships across PVUs and with Global teams
