To strengthen our Strategic Clinical Partnering (SCP) department within Global Clinical Science & Operations (GCSO), we seek a US/European-based Program Vendor Lead.

 

The Program Vendor Lead oversees all vendor operational and relationship activities for a clinical program throughout the drug development process while partnering with internal leaders across all of R&D.  

 

You like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Make an impact by serving as a liaison between the UCB Program Delivery Leads (PDL), Clinical Project Managers (CPM) and external service providers providing clinical study services for UCB clinical programs, to ensure high quality and timely study delivery.
  • Work in collaboration with SCP’s Vendor Management Lead in providing support for global vendor management activities.
  • Be a valuable contributor to our development activities by overseeing all external suppliers for assigned clinical programs to ensure that any service delivery failures that impact study quality or timelines are resolved with minimal impact to the clinical studies/program.

 

You will contribute by:

  • Leading/supporting as needed the clinical study team and Development Solutions stakeholder interactions with vendors from start-up through completion of a clinical study.
  • Driving the development, implementation and ongoing management of a vendor management program ensuring a collaborative, transparent relationship.
  • Providing support in the development and implementation of strategic partnerships and preferred/functional provider relationships according to the sourcing strategy, including processes and measures for vendor management.
  • Collaborating with various internal to implement new vendor and innovative approaches aligned with UCB’s Technology Transformation Implementation/Digital Business Transformation, including but not limited to the areas of decentralized clinical trials, eCOA and wearables.
  • Developing and fostering collaborative relationships with key interfaces such as Development Solutions, Legal, Purchasing, Finance, IT Clinical Solutions and Quality Assurance.

 

Interested? For this position you will need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Excellent team player that excels at motivating, influencing and integrating individuals with different levels of experience both cross functional and cross company.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required in any of several concentrations: science, finance, legal, business.   Master’s degree in the same concentration is preferred.  A scientific and business background is a plus.
  • Significant relevant experience, 8+ years, in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or CRO industry, in particular with clinical trial support service providers (e.g. eCOA, central lab, IRT).  Experience managing and/or working with CROs in a preferred provider relationship is a plus.
  • A proven track record of successful vendor management.
  • Exceptional leadership, networking, and communication skills are required.
  • Prior clinical trial project management experience is a plus.
