To strengthen our team, based in our Patient Value Unit Neurology Central Europe in Monheim, Germany, we are looking to fill the position of: Scientific Lead Neuroinflammation Central Europe (m//f/d).

As a UCB 'scienassionate' person and Scientific Lead Neuroinflammation Central Europe (m/f/d) you like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Show your deep scientific knowledge and ability to develop diverse therapeutic areas in the field of neuroinflammation/auto-immune diseases (e.g. Myasthenia Gravis, Immune thrombocytopenia)
  • Work holistically as scientific / medical partner for these dedicated therapeutic areas and ensure a high scientific appropriateness and consistency of the solutions and interactions in the area (including material)
  • Build from scratch an internal and external network for UCB’s neuroinflammation indications


As a UCB 'scienassionate' person and Scientific Lead Neuroinflammation Central Europe (m/w) you will contribute by:


  • Ensuring the highest possible scientific standards in the implementation of the strategy and the tactical execution at the Area level (e.g. LPVP, MSL tactics, materials, scientific upskilling, patient programs) and knowledge of nPVU team
  • Connecting the Region (EU StratOps), the Area and local PVUs on long term strategic objectives, clinical development and cross border initiatives
  • Giving input and being the reference point for the UCB Pipeline projects (clinical trials), EU Cross-borders and guidelines initiatives (PE5 local interface) in terms of scientific content. Execution will be driven by MSLs.
  • Providing input into the EU study plan such as scientific design and concept, site and investigator selection (together with MSL), medical conduct, results assessment and publication for company-sponsored clinical research. Support IIS & NIS programs and RWE generation.
  • Ensuring UCBCares members have the required TA and patient journey knowledge to execute their activities.
  • Provide the scientific expertise to external relationship at national level to maximize UCB medical impact and create opportunities for scientific partnerships


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:


  • 3-5 years in stakeholder facing roles within healthcare, ideally with experience in neuroinflammatory diseases (Myasthenia Gravis preferred)
  • Masters’ degree in life sciences, business or healthcare required, MD, PharmD, PhD preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulatory and access/HTA guidelines
  • Excellent communications skills in German and English, with the ability to inspire others
