Business Analytics Lead

To strengthen our Sales & Commercial Operations Team, based in Oakville, Toronto. We are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Business Analytics Lead.

As the Business Analytics Lead, you will be the Insights and Operational Excellence lead for all UCB products within Canada. This role will be part of a new Insights-to-Impact team and report to the Business Partner Head for UCB Canada.

You will contribute by: 

  • Leading certain parts of the Budget, Forecast and Long-range planning cycles during the year by developing and maintaining forecast assumptions in coordination with the Business
  • Taking the lead role in analyzing, interpreting, and generating meaningful insights from various sources (Ex-Factory, Patient Support Programs, IQVIA, CRM, SAP, etc.), as required for the Immunology and Neurology business units to help facilitate business decisions
  • Developing, maintaining and enhancing dashboards and reports as needed, however also leverage internal and external reporting/BI tools such as Qliksense, SAP HANA, Cognos BI, etc.
  • Supporting the Business review and recommend efficient territory alignment
  • Supporting the Business manage Field-based incentive plans (Design to monitoring)
  • Being the CRM subject matter expert by being a data steward and managing reporting, insight generation and facilitating UAT for updates
  • Taking the lead on implementing a new CRM system
  • Supporting the Regional leads manage field force effectiveness using Competency evaluation tools
  • Supporting and preparing situational ad-hoc analysis for Market Access pricing decisions
  • Supporting the Business on Gross-to-net items (Rebates, Financial Assistance, PPV/Chargebacks, etc.)
  • Managing vendor relations and communication between UCB and Data and Analytics vendors
  • Supporting the Business Partner Head to develop business cases and analysis as needed


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Science is required
  • 5 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is required
  • Solid experience with Microsoft products including advanced Excel skills is required
  • Experience with IQVIA data (Xponent, GPM, RX dynamics, OneKey), and CRMs (Veeva, Mobile Intelligence) is required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or CPA designation will be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of statistical analytical techniques is desired
  • Experience with Qliksense, Power BI, SAP will be considered an asset
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~10%of time)
  • Vendor management skills including contracting and negotiating
  • Ability to work independently and take the lead role on assigned projects
  • Neurology and Immunology experience will be considered an asset
  • Proven ability to lead and partner with various functional areas
