Commercial Solutions Lead (Biologics Product Manager)


The Sr. Biologics Product Manager - Immunology provides commercial and marketing leadership and oversight for the immunology franchise and maintains a high level of disease and product knowledge.  The Sr. Biologics Product Manager collaborates with other members of the iPVU to implement and create programs and materials to create patient value and allow UCB to achieve its financial and non-financial objectives.


Major Accountabilities:

Key Activities:

  • Develops commercial strategies consistent with Global that optimize brand position in the marketplace, and achieve financial objectives.
  • Develops brand business plan that results in strategic initiatives and tactical programs that maximize the value of the brand in the marketplace
  • Develops, gains agreement and implements tactical programs and promotional materials that are consistent with each strategy and objective, and help HCPs match the right UCB product/solution to the right patient
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships that result in productive and cooperative working relationships at the Customer Table (Sales,  Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Patient Experience, Regulatory, PV, QA, Procurement, Finance, Compliance)
  • Works with Ecosystem Leads (Regional Business Managers) and Scientific Lead to design and provide training and mentoring programs to field based Healthcare Provider Partner (Territory Managers) to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to be effective in their role
  • Analyses market data to derive insights that drive our strategic plans
  • Manage OPEX budget associated with program development and execution
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders/advisors to identify opportunities for UCB to further contribute to the creation of patient value
  • Take proactive steps to ensure that patients that receive a UCB product have the best possible experience
  • Ensures UCB Operational Compliance to the highest professional standards
  • Ensures promotional material and brand programs are in compliance with internal and RX&D guidelines
  • Ensures optimal patient experience, and supports the implementation of the PSP
  • Establish and cultivate relationships at a Global level (Mission, International Region, US, EU)

Key Deliverables:

  • A clear, well designed strategic and tactical plan to deliver optimal patient value and thereby achieve UCB’s financial and non-financial objectives
  • Highly rated and impactful material and programs
  • Evidence to support that HCPs are able to match the right UCB product to the right patients
  • Support Healthcare Provider Partner (Territory Manager) training needs assessments and associated execution of training plans
  • Strong, purposeful relationships with national and regional KOLs

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • MBA is considered an Asset
  • Mimimum 5 years of Biopharma Product Management experience
  • 2+ Years of Biopharmaceutical Sales experience
  • Experience in specialty/biologic marketing is preferred
  • Product launch experience is considered a strong asset
  • Experience in Reheumatology and/or Dermatology is preferred
  • Some travel (~20%) is required; Congress, Advisory Board Meetings, Territory/HCP visits
