To strengthen our Global Clinical Science & Operations (GCSO) department, based either in our RTP office in Raleigh - Durham, NC we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Head Risk Management and Data Quality

 

As Head Risk Management and Data Quality you will be responsible for ensuring that data generated and processed within Clinical Data and Innovation is fit for purpose by, developing, implementing and scaling UCB’s Risk Management and Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM).

 

You like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Develop, implement and scale UCB’s Risk Management and Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM) strategy with the appropriate enablers in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the activities to monitor quality and technical consistency of SDTM datasets, including medical coding
  • Contribute to improve the performance of CDI department by providing KPIs, analytics, automation solutions and delivering learning and knowledge management
  • Drive reduction of complexity of studies and programs

 

You will contribute by:

  • Line management of the team leading performance management, learning and knowledge delivery, risk management and RBM, data quality oversight and delivery, medical coding and data intelligence analytics
  • Developing and delivering analytics to measure performance across CDI and GCSO.
  • Ensuring tools are enabled to support medical coding of data from clinical trials and other collection or acquisition
  • Managing the oversight of medical coding, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Ensuring impact analyses for dictionary version changes, and appropriate pooling of data is enabled within and across programs
  • Active engagement with internal/external stakeholders to develop/implement/improve standard processes, controls, and systems related to Risk Management and RBM, in a CRO oversight model
  • Overseeing the process of complexity assessments of studies and influence the design of studies, lead the review of complexity for studies and programs

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Relevant academic background
  • 10+ years of experience in a CRO/pharmaceutical environment with a proven and consistent record of proactive management and innovation 
  • 3+ years of experience in the CRO/pharmaceutical environment related to the development/implementation of Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM) related capabilities
  • 3+ years of line management experience in a CRO/pharmaceutical environment with a successful record of developing personnel and teams
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of standards development processes, esp. for clinical data
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and evaluating business relationships/situations to make decisions and determine appropriate responsive actions
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a multi-functional and geographically diverse team.
