To strengthen our Real World Evidence (RWE) Team, based in our RTP Office in Raleigh, NC, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: RWE Lead Methodologist.

 

As a RWE Lead Methodologist you will provide technical expertise and guidance on epidemiologic and statistical analysis methods to internal stakeholders within UCB including study design and analysis of real-world data to generate RWE to support drug development 

 

Job Summary:

  • Develop the RWE training strategy and training materials and provides training on RWE to relevant stakeholders within UCB
  • Leads the protocol review group to ensure consistency in the scientific quality of RWE studies conducted across
  • Explores new methodologies for innovative study approaches for generating RWE
    • Combination of standard epidemiological methods and new methods and tools, incl. ML approaches
    • Optimizing synergies to answer health economic, safety and effectiveness research questions
  • Internal and External representative of RWE Methods for UCB
  • Mentors RWE methodologists / scientists
  • Such other responsibilities and projects that the Company may assign

 

Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the definition of methodological standards
  • Provides expert input and scientific rigor into choice of appropriate approaches considering audience, impact and risk
  • Designs & (Provides) education and training on RWE to relevant stakeholders
  • Input into core CRF modules with regards to NIS needs
  • Is Single Point of Contact with Global Clinical SO concerning prospective study designs, e.g. NIS & registries, and GRA concerning the new development paradigm, e.g. adaptive pathways, while maintaining appropriate communication with RWE Lead as needed.
  • Explores new methodologies for innovative study approaches

 

Requirements

  • Ph.D in Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology or a related field

 

Technical Expertise/Skills

  • Expertise in epidemiologic and statistical analysis methods utilized to generate RWE; excellent qualitative and quantitative epidemiological skills, including study design and analysis of health insurance claims and other automated healthcare databases
  • Able to provide technical expertise and guidance on observational research and epidemiologic methodology to internal stakeholders
  • Understanding of innovative approaches utilizing novel real world data sources to support and inform the study design and analysis
  • Knowledge of the epidemiologic methods involved in the quantification of potential safety signals, the determination of cause and effect relationships for potential safety signals and the application of epidemiologic methods
  • Familiarity with software for management and analysis of epidemiologic data
  • Ability to work in a global environment
  • Ability to proactively use his/her relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups to synthesize thinking, build advocacy and empower implementation of the above-mentioned solutions in support of UCB portfolio performance and patient outcome
