To strengthen our Patient Value Operations, we are looking to fill the position of Communications Lead.
 

About the Role
You will lead and manage all internal and external communications for UCB’s Slough based operations in support of UCB’s mission, strategic business objectives and corporate identity. You will have close interaction with key internal stakeholders including local Therapy Area Heads, VP, Global Communication and Change Support; Discovery, Investor Relations, Government Affairs etc. Externally it is expected you will have close working relationships with PR agencies, Key Opinion Leaders, Journalists and Governmental bodies.

The aim of the role is to ensure full effectiveness in:

  • Internal communications: reinforce two-way internal communication on the UK campus and develop a stronger UCB culture among all UK employees.
  • Commercial communications: establish the public relations communications strategy for core marketed products and established brands.
  • R&D communications: strengthen the company’s profile and perception in the UK by promoting scientific expertise and major UK life science investment levels.
  • Additionally, you take overall responsibility for some global and cross-functional projects as part of the Global Communication team.

 

About You
You should have:

  • Extensive experience across external and internal communications initiatives, encompassing a wide spectrum of challenges including, product launches, change management, staff engagement programmes, crisis and issues management as well as corporate, investor relations, government affairs, conference, meeting planning, training materials and internet -intranet strategy development.
  • Experience in the UK external media relations environment and significant communications and management experience in the bio pharmaceutical Industry is required.
  • A scientific qualification is a must.
  • Familiarity with scientific materials and how to use them to best promote the company’s messages, as well the ability to target communications to specific audiences and topics.
