To strengthen our Disclosure and Clearance team within the Medical Affairs Practice, based in our Slough, UK office, we are looking to fill the position of: Scientific Publication Lead.

As a Scientific Publication Lead you like to work in an environment where you can:

• Drive/Lead planning and implementation of therapeutic area/product Strategic Publication Plan for one or more UCB products in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of internal and external experts
• Implement publication-related procedures and compliance in line with internal and external standards
• Interact regularly with both internal & external scientific experts to develop ethical publications


You will contribute by:
• Acting as product Company Editor for publications by following international standards for Good Publication Practices and by ensuring high scientific integrity of data interpretation
• Creating and maintaining the required scientific expertise in therapeutic area/product publications
• Managing targeted data analysis of existing data in order to increase the medical knowledge these can yield while interacting regularly with both internal & external experts to gain more insight
• Identifying and managing appropriate external resources for generation of publications, including associated budget (e.g., third party medical writing providers)


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

• University Degree in immunology, neuroscience, biology, life science, pharmacology (preferably PhD or PharmD)
• Personal publication record (abstracts, manuscripts), targeted data analysis, min 3 years experience in publication management and/or medical writing experience preferably in immunology/neurology (CMPP certification preferred)
• Experience in immunological/neurological diseases and / or immunology/neurology
• Excellent English skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to create collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholders, and drive results through influencing and emphasizing quality
• Demonstrated effectiveness working with cross functional teams
• Excellent communication; diplomacy, comfort with a variety of styles and high cultural sensitivity, strong negotiating skill
• Excellent team worker with strong listening skills
• Project Management skills
