Role overview

The successful candidate would join the Antibody Biology group at the U.K. Slough. 

To apply multiple aspects of Phage Display technology to the de novo discovery and engineering of antibodies, nanobodies and peptides.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Apply the proven power of molecular display technologies for both the discovery and engineering of antibodies and peptides using in-house naïve phage display libraries and constructing project specific immune and maturation libraries.
  • Support our therapeutic antibody discovery/development projects by providing molecular biology expertise.
  • Work flexibly across project teams to ensure delivery of results against expected timelines.
  • Present experimental data at cross-functional meetings and external conferences.
  • Contribute to the development of new methodologies/techniques in antibody display and engineering.
  • Aim to publish work in high impact scientific journals and in patents.

 

Essential experience

Industrial/Pharmaceutical work experience is desirable.

  • A solid understanding and proven experience of molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning.
  • Experience in antibody discovery technologies including phage display, V-region discovery, cloning and engineering (beneficial).
  • A high level of motivation with a proven ability to deliver to tight timelines and work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and inter-personal skills.
  • A passion for delivering innovative new medicines to patients.
