Biologics Downstream Process Development Scientist

To strengthen our Downstream Process Team based in our UK Research and Development site in Slough, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Downstream Process Development Scientist.  
 

As the Downstream Process Development Scientist, you will be contributing to the development of downstream processes for the recovery and purification of antibody-based therapeutics. The work will span the provision of Well-Characterised Processes supporting Drug Substance Manufacture at various stages of Drug Development, from Pre-clinical to Clinical Phase I, II and III studies, to Process Validation support activities.
 

You will work in an environment where you can:

  • Develop your career within the Biopharmaceutical industry; by being exposed to a broad range of experience; work on a variety of antibody formats, within a company with a rich pipeline.
  • Support through the entire development process i.e. from early to late phase.

 

You will contribute by:

  • Undertaking purification process development experiments for fundamental understanding of individual unit operations.
  • Assisting with the evaluation of new bioprocess purification technologies.
  • Identifying and utilizing appropriate analytical techniques.
  • Effectively communicating findings to multi-disciplinary team.

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Applicants should have knowledge of various downstream processing tools
  • Previous experience of chromatography is desired, as well as a good understanding of analytical methods for assessing product purity and antibody protein characterisation.
  • Interested candidates should have a strong bachelor’s degree or Masters in a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ideally, we are looking to identify candidates who are currently working within the Pharmaceutical Industry, or who have completed a placement year in a similar field (or equivalent).
