To strengthen our Medicinal Chemistry Group, we are looking to fill the position of: Senior Scientist.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading an area of SAR development, as appropriate, through careful application of medicinal chemistry resources and team working to deliver results that enable scientific decisions to be made.
  • Owning an area of medicinal chemistry strategy and contributing to the project strategy.
  • Critically assessing the program data, independently deriving SAR understanding and generating critical hypotheses to address project challenges.
  • Providing balanced contributions on synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
  • Influencing project direction and presenting medicinal chemistry results from a strategic perspective.
  • Contributing to matrix team discussions on significance of data and interpretation thereof.


About You

You should have/be:

  • A relevant degree (i.e. in Organic Chemistry) coupled with appropriate industrial experience.
  • Excellent synthetic chemistry expertise ideally.
  • Strong knowledge of drug design and the application of CADD.
  • An understanding of pharmacology and DMPK information.
  • Able to present to medicinal chemistry project teams and communicate in an effective manner with external collaborators.
  • A desire to leave a positive legacy through input to published papers and patents.
